ZOMGs [sic] known as the Zeppelin of Mighty Gargantuaness. The epitome of Bloon technology, a gigantic very slow bloon that contains 4 BFBs.
~ Bloon Research Lab description of the ZOMGs upgrade

The Zeppelin of Mighty Gargantuaness, abbreviated as ZOMG, is a high-health blimp much stronger than the Brutal Floating Behemoth, first debuting in Bloons TD 5. It is the second-strongest multi-HP bloon throughout the series excluding Boss Bloons, and normally among the highest ranking MOAB-class bloons in the franchise, second to the Big Airship of Doom and Boss Bloons. The ZOMG has 4000 health and will release 4 BFBs once popped. In the Bloons TD 5 Generation, Bloons TD 6, and Bloons Adventure Time TD, the ZOMG moves at 0.18x the speed of a Red Bloon, a Lead Bloon, or a MOAB.

Just like all MOAB-class bloons, the ZOMG can be greatly damaged by attacks that inflict extra damage to MOAB-class bloons compared to normal bloons. The ZOMG is also much larger than a BFB, and most certainly larger than a MOAB. Due to this property, a ZOMG is quite easy to target with multi-projectile attacks such as Tack Sprayer. Many trivial options for handling weaker MOAB-class bloons are non-applicable to ZOMGs, an example being the Monkey Pirates ability. However, it will still be flayed by other powerful attacks such as First Strike Capability, Bloon Master Alchemist, and Pirate Lord.

ZOMGs can gain more health depending on the game. In Bloons TD 6, the ZOMG can become a Fortified ZOMG, with the fortification layer giving it and its descendants double health (8000 health for the ZOMG layer instead of 4000). In addition, Freeplay Mode will slowly advance their health and speed every round.

The health of a ZOMG can be determined through multiple damage stages. Every 1/4 of the ZOMG's health, 1000 by default, will make it appear more damaged. There are usually rips and tears on the blimp's skin. The ZOMG will appear more and more worn out until it is fully destroyed.

For each ZOMG leaked, it costs 16656 lives, or 14160 lives past Round 80 (24800 if fortified).

Details[]

The appearance of the Z.O.M.G. is a large, mainly black zeppelin with green stripes and a white skull design, and it first appears on Round 85 in Bloons TD 5, the final round in Hard Difficulty. The Z.O.M.G. was revealed at the end of the BTD5 trailer released on November 29, 2011. It is still in the final round of Hard Difficulty in BTD6, only the round count is 80 for this iteration, and it is no longer the strongest non-Boss bloon out there (B.A.D.s are stronger, but the argument of D.D.T. s vs Z.O.M.G.s still continue). In Bloons TD 6, a new attribute was added to all M.O.A.B. class bloons, called Fortified, doubling HP (Fortified Z.O.M.G.: 10,720 HP (34,992 RBE, Round 97)) to all bloons, while making their children become also Fortified. As its name suggests:

  • It is a Zeppelin.
  • It is mighty, as it takes thousands of hits to pop.
  • It is gargantuan, being a MOAB-Class Bloon and one of the largest in the game

The might of just one Z.O.M.G. can be represented in the Formula:
(4000 [+4000] +
4 × {700 [+700] +
4 × {200 [+200] +
4 × {10 [+10] + {47 × 2}} }})

(Total health is 16656).

This changes during rounds 81+, with it initially losing RBE due to Super Ceramics but gaining more and more RBE and rounds go on due to Freeplay scaling.

Bloons Super Monkey 2 Mobile[]

Main article: ZOMG (BSM2 Mobile)

The ZOMG appears as a boss in level 82, but only exclusive to BSM2 Mobile. It has 80,000 health and is modified with tech from the scrapyard, as it now has two magnets attached to its sides which will pull in and force most projectiles to constantly home in on them.

Bloons Monkey City[]

ZOMGs are the strongest blimps in the game. One is guaranteed to appear on almost every tile ranked ZOMG or other similar-ranking tiles.

For every tile except with DDT modifier, 1 ZOMG always spawn at the end of the final round in Mobile, regardless of RBE budget.

Z.O.M.G. Layer (Blimp Health)[]

ZomgBTD6all

Like the M.O.A.B. and the B.F.B, the Z.O.M.G. layer also has 4 health stages, as you can see in the picture on the right. When compared, 600 health taken out of a B.F.B. will nearly have it popped, while the Z.O.M.G. layer shows no visual damage. Some damage is visible on the Z.O.M.G. layer between 1,000 and 2,000 hits. Between 2,000 and 3,000 hits, it shows serious damage, and between 3,000 and 4,000 hits, it shows critical damage, including a bandage on its skull. At 4,000 hits, the Z.O.M.G. layer is destroyed, and it releases 4 Brutal Floating Behemoths (B.F.B.s). In Bloons Monkey City (or BTD5 freeplay), the higher the round, the faster and stronger the Z.O.M.G. and all other Bloons. This is very noticeable on Contested Territory. In BTD6, it can get the Fortified attribute, doubling its health to 8,000 HP while having an RBE of 27,296. In round 150, a ZOMG has 69,352 RBE.

Bloons Pop![]

Gargantuan health and defends itself with Hazard formations
~ Short description

The ZOMG has first appeared in early March 2022. It makes appearance as a boss, similarly to The Behemoth (BFB).

It only appears on Level 10 in certain Adventure events or on certain spaces in Party Crashers events where it features in as a boss fight. After every shot, it will spawn waves of various bloon types, from red to ceramic, even including regrow, camo, fortified, and shielded properties, it also sometimes creates obstacles and hazards, all while progressively getting harder as its health depletes. After about 6000 points of damage, the ZOMG retreats. Unlike most bloons, the ZOMG consumes the whole bottom half space floating vertically, which prevents most projectiles from expiring at the bottom of the screen.

Unlike other BTD6 generation games, Fortified ZOMGs do not exist in this game.

The full list of bloons the ZOMG spawns can be viewed in the collapsible menu.

Bloons TD Battles 2[]

ZOMGs make a comeback in this game, and can be sent for $5,500 ($7000 pre-1.0.4), and since Version 3.3.2 its cost decreases to $5,000 between Rounds 24-25, and $4500 on Rounds 26-29. Sending a ZOMG has an income penalty of 100 Eco. Spaced ZOMGs unlock on Round 22, while Grouped ZOMGs unlock on Round 24. Tightly packed ZOMGs can be sent starting Round 30, for a price of $12,000 ($10,000 prior to Version 1.6.0) to send 4 ZOMGs, and give an eco penalty of 400.

One natural ZOMG spawns on Round 40, the final round before Sudden Death begins. Subsequent natural ZOMGs appear on later rounds.

Zeppelin Of Mighty Gargantuanesses move at a base speed of 7, equal to 0.28 RBS.

Bloons Card Storm[]

The ZOMG returns as a Rare card in Bloons Card Storm. It is the most bulky of bloons but has the greatest amount of delay. At a whopping 700 HP, it does enough damage to a hero to one-shot KO them. Sending a ZOMG does takes 5 turns before the ZOMG ends up being a grave threat, however. Costing 10 Cash, this is a very, very expensive bloon. It has just 1 charge.

Strategies[]

Main article: Zeppelin Of Mighty Gargantuaness (Z.O.M.G.)/Strategies

The Z.O.M.G. has an extremely high RBE (red bloon equivalent) of 16,656 and it takes 4,000 hits to pop, where it then releases 4 B.F.B.s. Without a proper defense, its children can rush through the track and easily end the game. On Round 85 in Bloons Tower Defense 5 and round 80 in Bloons Tower Defense 6 there is only one Z.O.M.G. (five in Impoppable Difficulty in BTD5), but in later rounds there are multiple Z.O.M.G.s, increasing even more in later rounds.

The Z.O.M.G. is different from the B.F.B. and the M.O.A.B. because it is immune to the Monkey Buccaneer's Monkey Pirates grappling ability and receives 350 damage from the Monkey Ace's Ground Zero ability, 753 damage from the Bomb Tower's MOAB Assassin ability, and 1,000 damage from the Super Monkey's Bloon Annihilation ability. However, the Bloonchipper's Super Wide Funnel upgrade can still suck in and eventually pop the Z.O.M.G. (except in Bloons TD Battles Mobile), and the Monkey Sub's First Strike Capability can take out an entire Z.O.M.G in one shot

It should be noted that ZOMGs also has Stun Resistance meaning it cannot be stalled easily.

While bloons can normally be allowed to leak with loss of life, the Z.O.M.G. has an RBE (Red Bloon Equivalent) of 16,656, making this strategy practically impossible even with the use of Healthy Bananas. However, it is possible to leak a Round 85 Z.O.M.G. whole and survive with the use of several Support Chinook supply drop abilities, though this is only possible on Steam or mobile.

Simple examples of handling ZOMGs include using MOAB Assassins or MOAB Eliminator (Only BTD6), Grand Bomber (Only BTD6), Bloon Sabotage Ninja Monkey, 4-2 Bloonchipper. 2-4 Monkey Sub is effective too.

Differences Between BTD5 Flash and BTD5 Mobile[]

Aside from appearance, the Z.O.M.G. is almost the same in the flash and mobile versions of BTD5.

NERF The Absolute Zero ability can slow down Z.O.M.G.s.

Change

When the Z.O.M.G. is in its last stage of health, it moves forward a bit. (only the sprite does, the hitbox doesn't change)

Version History (Bloons TD Battles Mobile)[]

The Z.O.M.G has been buffed via game updates, which have made it harder to defend.

Note: The buffs and nerfs refer to according to player favorability when both sending and countering ZOMGs.

Initial Release

  • BUFF Z.O.M.G.s (along with the other MOAB class bloons) can now be stalled by Supa-Vac for 8 seconds.
  • NERF Z.O.M.G.s (along with the other MOAB class bloons) have half the health of their BTD5 counterparts before getting destroyed (4000 HP → 2000).

3.2

3.4

  • NERF Supa-Vac now only holds Z.O.M.Gs in place for 2 seconds.

3.9

  • BUFF Fast Cooldown Z.O.M.Gs added. They cost $10,000, take around 1 second to send, and change the income by -$1500.

3.9.1

  • Change Z.O.M.Gs (along with the other MOAB class bloons) have increased health and speed ramping (Speed: +15% per round → +20%; Health: +5% per round → +40%).

4.1

  • BUFF Spaced and Fast Cooldown Z.O.M.G income penalty reduced (-$1500 → -$600).
  • NERF Super Wide Funnel no longer sucks in Z.O.M.Gs.
  • NERF Supa-Vac no longer stalls Z.O.M.Gs.

4.3

In the 4.1 update, we reduced the eco penalty all the way from -$1000 [sic] to -$600. It seems that this change was perhaps a little too drastic and we've noticed that bloon eco is currently outweighing Banana Farm strategies, especially when you consider that eco players have a 4th attacking tower. Increasing the eco penalty of fast cooldown ZOMGs should help make both strategies just as viable as each other.
~ "BTD Battles 4.3 Update Balance Changes"

NERF Fast Cooldown Z.O.M.G income penalty increased (-$600 → -$900).

4.9
  • BUFF MOAB Assassin deals more damage (700 → 1000). This means that Z.O.M.Gs can now be destroyed in 2 uses of the ability instead of 3.

Version History (Bloons TD Battles 2)[]

Does not include information about ZOMG as affected by towers, only ZOMGs themselves and their sends.

1.0.4
  • BUFF ZOMGs cost less ($7000 → $5500)
  • BUFF ZOMGs move faster (5 → 7)
1.0.6
  • BUFF Increased the rate at which MOAB class bloon health and speed increases from round 31 onwards
1.3.0
  • BUFF Added Tight ZOMG option, costing $10,000 for 4 tightly packed ZOMGs at 0.2s spacing per ZOMG (0.8s total), and an eco loss of 400.
???
  • NERF Tight ZOMG spacing per ZOMG increased (0.2s -> 0.25s (?))
  • NERF Tight ZOMG send cost increased ($10,000 -> $12,000)

Next up is the final round, beat it and you'll gain the Impoppable medal. You won't though, this has been a waste of time and you won't survive what's coming. At least you had fun.

Trivia[]

  • Z.O.M.G. is a play on zomg, a typo of OMG due to the QWERTY keyboard layout. It can be pronounced as "zoh my god."
  • Upon first seeing the Z.O.M.G. in Bloons TD 5 Mobile, a warning is given. However, the picture shown (above) is incorrect as the blimp is missing its skull and eyes and its overall shape is more similar to a M.O.A.B. being rounded rather than pointy and diamond-shaped.
  • In Bloons TD 5 Mobile, it moves slightly forward when it is at its last stage of health. This is unintentional, and only the sprite moves, the hitbox is the same.
  • The Z.O.M.G is the slowest non-boss bloon in the series, tied with the B.A.D.
  • In the trailer for Bloons TD 5 iOS, it is shown to have a mouth, as it is in the Ninja Kiwi avatar unlocked at Rank 40.
  • In Bloons Monkey City Mobile, the Army Monkey gives a warning of the Z.O.M.G. upon first encounter, but a picture is not shown, unlike in Bloons TD 5.
  • The Z.O.M.G. strongly resembles the Christmas spoilers' blimp from the movie: Saving Santa.
  • The Z.O.M.G. is missing from the flash version of Bloons Super Monkey 2.
    • This may be because the Z.O.M.G. would take up half the screen with its bulk, or because Altitude, a scrapped zone, was never released, which could have featured the Z.O.M.G. as the final boss.
      • Bloons Pop would later add a Z.O.M.G. boss battle which does take up the bottom half of the screen with its bulk. However, the same can be said about the B.F.B, which was included in Bloons Super Monkey 2 Flash.
    • An update for BSM2 Mobile included it as a boss for Helium Heights, which is a Z.O.M.G. armored with magnets, batteries, and various scrap bits.
  • Ninja Kiwi released the Z.O.M.G. by stating, "Prepare for the Z.O.M.G, the Zeppelin... Oh... My... God... IT'S HUGE!"
  • The "Surely this is the largest thing the Bloons could possibly send at us? Right...?" warning in Bloons TD 6 has a "Right?" at the end because it is not the biggest in Bloons TD 6. The biggest in normal rounds would be the Big Airship of Doom (BAD) which first appears on Round 100, although all Boss Bloons are also larger than the Z.O.M.G.
  • The Biggest One skin is a reference to The Biggest One upgrade.
