“ | Creates a super hot wall of fire across the track to roast the bloons as they pass. | ” |
~ BTDB2 description |
Wall of Fire is the 2nd upgrade of Path 2 for the Wizard Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It adds a new fiery attack that regularly generates a blaze ("wall of fire") that constantly damage passing bloons. The Wizard deploys them on the closest area of track by default, or any manually targeted location within range if given Guided Magic. In terms of basic statistics, it is similar to its BTD6 counterpart except its blazes are comparable to its BTD6 pre-33.0 counterpart.
The blaze's contact damage and pierce refreshment are both every 0.15s. The Wizard deploys blazes every 5.5s, each blaze lasting for up to 4.5s, with no lifespan benefit by adding Guided Magic. Guided Magic causes the blaze to target a location anywhere within its range, custom-picked by the player or defaulting to Close. Pierce of blaze is 10, or 15 with Intense Magic. Wall of Fire blazes constantly damage bloons every 0.15s and refresh pierce every 0.15s, the combination of the two attributes simulating a constantly burning flame. Walls of Fire cannot pop Purple Bloons without support, and any Purple Bloon that touches it will destroy it. Unlike most attacks, the Wall of Fire attack undergoes a 1.0s initial cooldown before creating its first Wall of Fire.
Unlike in BTD6, Wall of Fire is not affected by damage scaling from Necromancer.
It costs $1000.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
A rather low-cost but very cost-efficient source of bloon-popping. This makes it powerful in the early-game against various early eco sends, including most Spaced Bloon and Grouped Bloon sends, as well as dish some damage to bloons later in the game. There is a small downtime between blazes, but paired with an already decent defense it is very strong. Wall of Fire has a major weakness against Purple Bloons, requiring other defenses to take them down.
Tips[]
- The high grouped popping power for only $1600 total makes it a great option for clearing out stray bloons, or being your main popping power.
- The Wall of Fire itself only has 82% uptime, leaving a second where it's down, which can be remedied by a second wall of fire.
- While powerful, Wall of Fire is very vulnerable to Purple Bloons, as most of its projectiles are not capable of damaging them, and Fireball's attack is too slow on its own. Additionally, any purple bloon touching a Wall of Fire will destroy the fire, and start the downtime, leaving a second of vulnerablity.
Version History[]
Wall of Fire remains a popular upgrade for the Wizard for its cheap group-popping for the early-game. It had pre-emptively been given nerfs prior to the global release of Battles 2, which likely stems from its peak efficiency in BTD6 Race Events.

“ | On reflection, the previous nerf to Necromancer was not impactful enough, because the graveyard capacity mostly remains at/near full capacity, meaning that the nerf did not change too much. A lot of Necromancer’s strength also comes from the wall of fire, so we have decided to weaken that attack. | ” |

“ | Arcane Mastery seems to be in a decent spot, but it has poor stepping stones in the early game, so we have buffed the lower tiers leading up to it. Arcane Mastery, Wall of Fire, and Shimmer have all had their price increased so that they do not indirectly get buffed from the price cuts. | ” |
