Upgrade Buildings are special buildings in Bloons Monkey City that give you the option to research upgrades for towers that can be used in battle. The buildings allow any Upgrades to be researched for City Cash and also Bloonstones to research 3rd and 4th tier upgrades. Depending on the type, they may also allow upgrades to be researched for two towers. The Monkey Town Hall will always be built once the city is founded.

- Researching the first and second Tier-4 upgrades also changes the appearance of the respective Unit Building twice.
