True Sun God is the 5th upgrade on Path 1 of the Super Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. Like in previous games, the True Sun God relies on sacrifices to attain maximized damage and support potential. However, in BTDB2, its sacrifices are significantly weaker than those in BTD6, just like Sun Temple. But unlike Sun Temple, only True Sun God can summon Mini Sun Avatars and Golden Spectres, not like in BTD6 where both tiers of Super Monkey can. Base sunbeams deal 38 damage and pierce 30 bloons, better than from its BTD6 counterpart. Sacrifice values are reduced for True Sun God in this game, too.
If a level 20 Adora is within range of an emerging True Sun God, Adora takes its place as the True Sun Goddess, and replaces its own attacks with her own, producing superpowered homing sunbeams and Balls of Light, and inherits her Blood Sacrifice ability. Technically speaking, she will be considered a True Sun God simply because she’s now just an improved True Sun God.
It costs $200,000, ignoring sacrifices, and is unlocked with the other Super Monkey tier 5 upgrades for 1500.

Sacrifice tier thresholds are similar compared to BTD6, but the actual new stats and attacks received for tiers of sacrifices are different. The max is less but there's only one tier of sacrifices.

- $15,000: Increases attack speed by about 11.1% (0.9x attack cooldown).
- $15,000: Fires a golden glaive every 0.X seconds while attacking that deals 25 damage with 40 pierce.

True Sun Goddess Adora[]
If Level 20 Adora is within range of a Sun Temple when it is upgraded to a True Sun God, Adora becomes the True Sun Goddess, replacing the True Sun God. Technically speaking, this is still the True Sun God, just now merged into Adora.
The True Sun Goddess Adora cannot be sacrificed by a Sun Temple, just like any hero.

Summary[]
True Sun God is designed to be the highest DPS tower in the entire game, which is actually contradictory to its practicality. Due to how weak and expensive it is even with full sacrifices in 3 tower categories, in the late game. where BADs become extremely strong, it struggles against them. In fact, for its extraordinary costs it is almost always worse than multiple other towers. However, a fully buffed True Sun God paired with many other high-DPS towers and various buffs may optimize its true power.
Tips[]
- Make sure you got full sacrifices for each categories you got in your loadout. It is recommended to bring Support and another category other than Magic, since Super already covers Magic sacrifices.

“ | We have made significant adjustments to a lot of Super Monkey’s upgrades, as we feel like Super Monkey is not and has never been properly balanced for this game. While its main strength is its late game and we want to keep it that way, we do not think it should be to the extent where it has almost no use in the early/mid game. Therefore, we are making some pretty big price cuts to the early tiers, while adjusting the tier 3s to balance out these price cuts so that they don’t become too strong. A lot of the higher tiers have either been too expensive or too inefficient to have any practical use in ranked matches, and we want to change that. [...] True Sun God (without sacrifices) was actually incredibly weak for its extreme price tag, with a lot of its strength coming from the weapons/buffs it receives and provides from sacrifices. We wanted to shift more of its strength to the vanilla weapon, as it should always be a powerful tower given its hefty price. - In BTDB2, it is the most expensive upgrade in the entire game in terms of upgrade price and XP requirements.
- The Version 1.6.0 price decrease to the True Sun God makes that balance change the single-highest cost decrease out of any balance change throughout the history of the Bloons TD series.
- Unlike in BTD6, the True Sun God in BTDB2 shares the same temple warning as the previous Sun Temple upgrade.
