Trophy Store Icon

The Trophy Store is a store added to Bloons TD 6 in Update 19.0 where players can redeem trophies for exclusive cosmetic enhancements. These include Hero pets, new projectiles, bloon skins, music tracks, and more. Items in the trophy store are purely for cosmetic use with no bearing on gameplay, aside from providing visual clarity in certain cases. As such, all non-income related Trophy Store items can be activated or applied in C.H.I.M.P.S. mode. In addition, Trophy Store items cannot be purchased with real money.

Trophy Store items have been added with every major update since Update 19.0. Seasonal Trophy Store items are made available for a limited time each year.

History

Trophy Store Featured Tab

On October 3rd 2020, Ninja Kiwi announced that there will be upcoming limited-time Halloween Trophy Store items. These limited-time items will only be on sale during during the Halloween season (15th/16th October to 2nd/3rd November 2020).

On December 2nd/3rd 2020, Ninja Kiwi added limited-time Christmas Trophy Store items. Again, only on sale during the Christmas season (December 2nd/3rd 2020 to January 5th/6th 2021).

On March 11th/12th, 2021, Ninja Kiwi added limited-time Easter Trophy Store items. Like the Halloween & Christmas limited items, these items will only be on sale for a limited time. Which is during the entirety of March, up until early April (March 11th/12th to April 6th/7th 2021).

On May 1st/2nd, 2021, Ninja Kiwi secretly added one limited-time item related to Star Wars: "Pew pew Pop FX". It is to celebrate May 4th, Star Wars Day. This was only on sale for 3 days (May 1st/2nd to May 4th/5th 2021). It has since returned in 2022.

On June 24th/25th, 2021, Ninja Kiwi added American Independence Trophy Store items. Only on sale during the American Independence period (24th/25th June to 12th/13th July 2021).

On October 13th, 2021, Ninja Kiwi re-added last Halloween's items with new ones added. Like last Halloween, These items will only be on sale during the Halloween season (October 13th 2021 at ~11:00am NZDT to November 2nd 2021 at 9:00 NZDT).

On December 8th 2021, Ninja Kiwi re-added last Christmas's items with new ones added. Per usual, during Christmas season (December 8th 2021 at ~11:00am NZDT till January 5th 2022 at 9:00pm NZDT) only.

On April Xth 2022, Ninja Kiwi re-added all previous Easter items with new ones added. During Easter as always (April Xth 2022 at Version 31.0 begin (?) till April 22nd at 8:00pm NZST).

Pew Pew Pop FX was since added on May 4th 2022, more specifically between May 3rd 20:00pm NZST to May 5th 20:00pm NZST to account for timezones.

On July Xth 2022, Ninja Kiwi re-added all previous American Independence Day items with no new items.

On October Xth 2022, Ninja Kiwi re-added all previous Halloween items with new ones added. Added on Version 33.0, (new fresh on the first day or delay?).

On December Xth 2022, Ninja Kiwi re-added all previous Christmas items with new ones added. Added on Version 34.0 on the first day that the update came out, a few days before the Christmas season was ready for the collection event.

April 4th 2023 readded Easter items on Version 36.0, with some new 2023 Easter items.

Pew Pew Pop FX was added on May 5th 2023 quite late in the duration, and then later extended for a week.

Strategy

Summary

The Trophy Store itself isn't advantageous, but it contains many cosmetics that may be helpful for the gameplay of a player. More notably, there is a unique unlockable called Monkey Names that can be used to rename the first towers and gather statistics for all towers and heroes. In addition, certain cosmetics increase the ease of playability, such as increasing visibility of certain game mechanics (e.g. clearly visible camo/decamo phases of DDTs via Neon DDT, or determining Fusty the Snowman's terrain placement via Snowman Penguin Pet) or substituting intrusive SFX (e.g. Water Bloon Pop FX's soft "splash" sounds instead of hard "pop" default sounds).

Tips

• Certain items may actually be strategically advantageous in a game setting. For instance, it can increase visibility of certain game mechanics in the game.
  • Monkey Names modifies the name of the first monkey placed. This is particularly useful for specific Monkey Knowledge involving the first of a kind, especially Farm Subsidy (Banana Farm) and First Last Line of Defense (Spike Factory).
  • Neon DDT provide a very clear display of camo/decamo phases of DDTs (blue = camo, yellow = decamo).
  • Snowman Penguin Pet with Fusty the Snowman enabled for Pat Fusty makes it easier to recognize terrain placement. The penguin waddles on terrain based on where Fusty the Snowman lands on; this helps show whether he can be affected by water-specific buffs such as Energizer or Carrier Flagship.

Trivia

• The Trophy Store introduction popup was added as of Version 20.0 instead of 19.0, which would be the initial release of the Trophy Store.
• Due to a bug introduced in Version 20.0 preventing Dad of Quincy from appearing on the map, Dad of Quincy was temporarily removed from the Trophy Store on Version 20.0. Players who had bought Dad of Quincy before the removal would permanently hear moaning as long as normal Quincy is on the map. The reasoning behind temporarily removing Dad of Quincy was also explained on the 11th September 2020 Ninja Kiwi blog. It returned in the trophy store since Version 21.0, and it now works properly as intended.
• The profile icon, Holiday patch, confirms the patch notes monkey to be called 'Patch'.
  • Patch could be named after the Patch notes.
• At the Trophy Store's introduction, the Trophy Store has had a total of 107 items. Buying all of them would cost 4140 trophies. (The 15 Halloween limited items cost 560 trophies and the 13 Christmas limited items cost 335 trophies.)
• Canonically, Etienne's Roomba cat's name is Pancake, according to Ninja Kiwi's 16th July 2021 blog.

Cultural references

• The shark DDT Bloon description is a reference to the fact that DDTs are very hard to defend from and the common portrayal of sharks in media as bloodthirsty animals.
• The Neon DDT Bloon could be a reference to the movie "Tron". This is emphasized on the colors of blue and yellow from the suits of people within the World
• The 'All is fine' Text emote is a reference to the popular meme, "This is fine" where someone reassured themselves in a situation that seems entirely hopeless.
  • Despite this, it is commonly used as a response to the 'Sorry' text emote.
• "Player 3" is a running gag in Trophy Store emotes, referencing a community meme depicting Player 3 as being "greedy".
• Some of the words used for description of the Frankenmonkey profile picture is a reference to Plants vs. Zombies, where zombies may sometimes say "Brains!" every few minutes.
• Part of the description for "Pew Pew Pop FX" is a reference to Darth Vader telling Luke Skywalker about acknowledging their father-son correlation: "Search your feelings. You know it to be true."
