Trident Efficiency is the first upgrade of Path 1 for the Mermonkey in Bloons TD 6. With this upgrade, it increases Mermonkey attack speed by 17.6% (0.85x attack cooldown). Tridents attack every 1.02s instead of 1.2s. Trident Efficiency does improve the rate of Alluring Melody's rate of hypnotising bloons with active alluring auras, but does not reduce the downtime of the alluring aura. Ice Jet abilities from Arctic Knight and Popseidon do not receive bonus attack speed from Trident Efficiency.
This upgrade costs $210 on Easy, $250 on Medium, $270 on Hard, and $300 on Impoppable.

Targeting Priorities[]
Trident Efficiency targets bloons using the standard targeting priorities. It shoots straight movement projectiles.
- First: Targets the first bloon visible within its range.
- Last: Targets the last bloon visible within its range.
- Close: Targets the closest bloon visible within its range.
- Strong: Targets the strongest bloon visible within its range.
Adding Echosense Precision grants camo detection to the Mermonkey, but does not add the Camo Prioritization targeting option.

- Projectile, normal type, 28 range (35 range if placed on water), 1.02s attack cooldown, 2 pierce. Projectile speed of 200, projectile lifespan of 0.5s. Upon hitting a bloon, generate Stab.
- Stab:
- Burst, shatter type, 6 blast radius, 2 damage, 3 impacts.
- Crosspathing interactions
- 1-1-0: Impacts of Stab increased from 3 to 6.
- 1-2-0: Projectile size of Trident increased from 6 to 9, and can freeze up to 4 layers for 0.5s.
- 1-5-0: Trident attack cooldown reduced from 1.02s to 0.51s.
- 1-0-1: Trident now lightly homes at a 260 turning rate.
- 1-0-2: Gains the Networking buff, increasing range of all other x-x-2+ Mermonkeys by +6%.
- 1-0-3: Hypnotize attack cooldown reduced to 0.27s. Does not decrease attack cooldown of Allure.
- Monkey Knowledge interactions
Monkey Education: All Monkeys XP earn rate increased by 8%.- Better Sell Deals: All Monkeys sell for 5% more. Increases sell potency from 70% to 75%.

Increased attack speed improves the rate of shots, improving its consistency of making attacks and increases its DPS. It is fairly cheap, and quite affordable in the early-game to handle early bloon waves better.
