Time Attack Contested Territory rule popup

Playing the Time Attack ruleset on an unoccupied CT Tile
Time Attack is a ruleset in Bloons TD 6. When playing with this ruleset, the game is set with Race Event rules; against a timer, rounds can be sent early to speed up the process, and otherwise plays like a normal game. The aim is to get a minimal race time. Powers (including any Relic Knowledge specific to Powers) are disabled in this ruleset. In this game mode, Race Event entry fees do not apply, and thus can be replayed as many times as possible without entry fee, cooldown between entries, or needing Race Passes. However, as a countermeasure to XP Farming, XP cannot be earned in Time Attack. Additionally, repeating a Time Attack will not give extra Monkey Money if the tile is not captured.
In Contested Territory, the player can set a timer score on unoccupied tiles. The timer of an unoccupied Time Attack tile runs like a stopwatch, but runs like an actual timer on occupied Time Attack tiles. The aim is to get a low score (i.e. fastest time). All Heroes are enabled.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
Use strategies involved in Race Events to get the best times possible. Look for high pierce towers such as Recursive Cluster, Bomber Ace, Blade Maelstrom, and Ice Shards to deal with large quantities of bloons sent. If possible, look for quick income-within-round options (e.g. Banana Farm but not Merchantman), followed by end-of-round-cash income options (e.g. Merchantman, Benjamin) to build a large flow of income. If none of the towers involved in the Time Attack contain significantly high-pierce options, take caution and avoid sending out more waves too often.
Tips[]
- Particularly useful Relic Knowledge for Time Attack typically allow for massive potential for quickly beating multiple rounds at once, especially for starting a solid early-game and transitioning into an effective late-game. Since Powers are banned in Time Attack, try to go for a strong combination of Relics that will assist in minimizing time spent.
- Bloon property countermeasures: Alchemist Touch (e.g. Blade Maelstrom), Royal Treatment (e.g. Dragon's Breath, Gwendolin), Sharpslosion (e.g. Bomber Ace), Deep Heat (e.g. Ice Monkey), Camo-flogged
- Early-game: Flint Tips, Restoration, Box of Monkey, Starting Stash, Mana Bulwark, Box of Chocolates, Rounding Up
- Mid-to-late-game: MOAB-Clash, Flint Tips, Hard Baked
- Synergetic Relic combos: Flint Tips + Alchemist Touch (burning sharp lead-popping, e.g. 0-3-x Druid of the Jungle)
- Miscellaneous: Air and Sea (such as Bomber Ace, Cannon Ship, Bloontonium Reactor), Bigger Bloon Sabotage, Extra Empowered, Hero Boost, Abilitized, El Dorado (in-game currency profits only)
- Always try to make use of the red "Send Wave" button on the left of the green Play button. This will help minimize time spent on the event, and can even synergize with certain high-pierce towers such as Ice Shards and M.O.A.R. Glaives.
- It is possible to quit a Time Attack tile if you're not happy with the current score achieved. Tickets are only consumed upon completing a tile. There is some leeway near the end of the Time Attack where the game can be swiftly restarted if necessary.
- Try to use similar strategies in ordinary Race Events with no MK. Some outstanding early-to-midgame Relics, especially Flint Tips and Restoration, may alter favorably for minimizing Race times.
- Note that all Time Attacks only go up to Round 80 as the highest possible round, meaning that Super Ceramics won't be encountered at all. In that case, choose tower combinations that reliably deal with dense bloons, such as Ring of Fire, Ice Shards, and Recursive Cluster.
- If a Hero is available, choose the hero that will be most effective on Race Events. Examples include Gwendolin, Sauda, and Benjamin.
