Thrive is a Power in Bloons TD 6. It can be purchased for BloonjaminsIcon70. When used, it increases income gain from popping Bloons and other income sources by 25% for the current round and next round. This effect stacks with other income boosting upgrades such as Monkey Town and Monkey City. In the Contested Territory it makes an appearance as a Relic Knowledge, allowing up to 2 uses of the power per game.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Rather than instant like Cash Drop, Thrive works best when developing income during the early mid-game and beyond. It especially synergizes well with greedy income generation playstyles, especially for pure Banana Farm strategies and Merchantmen farming strategies. Take care to activate Thrive before potential income-related trouble arises, as it takes some time for the Thrive effects to gain more value than a single Cash Drop.

Tips[]

  • Think of Thrive as a weaker global Monkey Town but stronger global Monkey City. Instead of +50% income per pop, it's +25% per pop, and +25% pure income instead of +15%.
  • Use Thrive on rounds where Monkey Town would be optimized, as Thrive's main power is from its income-per-pop portion. Pre-plan the use of Thrive for rounds where a lot of income can be earned from popping bloons between the current round and the next one, such as (normal) Rounds 27, 39, 45, 48, 49, 58, 61, 65, 69, 70, 78, 79, 83, 84, 88, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96 and 98. The other general income portion is mainly just a mere extra benefit.
  • Note that Thrive does last across two end-of-round states too, meaning that a single use of Thrive has full effect on end-of-round cash generators such as Benjamin, Merchantman, and Monkey Wall Street.
  • If using Thrive, make sure to use it after upgrading any income-generating upgrades. All income generators bought after the Thrive, including newly placed Banana Farms and newly upgraded Merchantmen will not receive income boosts from Thrive.

Contested Territory Tips[]

  • The Relic Knowledge variant from Contested Territory grants the player two uses of Thrive. Try using Thrive on rounds where a transition to higher cash gain would be key. For most cases, assume use of Thrive is to boost only the cash per pop.
  • Thrive is generally better on Least Tiers than Least Cash; while both rulesets would appreciate from leewaying towards expensive carriers, Thrive is more beneficial for Least Tiers because of its power towards affording expensive Tier 5 options worth between approximately $25,000-$50,000 (especially Spirit of the Forest).
  • On Boss Bloon Event tiles, this power is useful for further boosting income, including collectables, end-of-round cash, and cash-per-pop sources. Try a round with large amount of RBE and a lot of income generators. Before the first tier of Boss, try to use it on Rounds 34-35 and Rounds 37-38 for the best results. If there are two tiers of Boss, try Rounds 49-50 with the second use of Thrive.
  • In terms of using Thrive before Round 60, Rounds 49-50 and Rounds 54-55 are optimal for maximizing cash-per-pop. This may be useful on Least Tiers tiles that may have trouble beyond Round 60.

Version History[]

Buffed to benefit more sources of income. Visual effects beyond a simple one-off "throwing of gold coins animation" were added to visibly identify an active Thrive.

Thrive has been one of the least understood Powers in the game, and that misunderstanding has only added to the use case delta vs Cash Drops. To improve balance Thrive has been upgraded.

Trivia[]

  • A Monkey Knowledge Point, called "Supa-Thrive," increases the income gain from 25% to 30%
  • While Thrive can be used in Deflation Mode, it will have no effect since the player cannot gain any money from pops.
  • On Version 25.0, the description of Thrive was changed to add "[...] and Bloon pops [...]", which accommodates its new additional effect.
  • Bloons Wiki initially assumed that Thrive works the way it now does since Version 25.0. Somehow, the wording in the leading section now works exactly as was first described.
