  • There's a lot of debate on whether Perma-Spike needs nerfs in the next upcoming update, but I'd like to take a step back and ask if it's even OP, to begin with. Personally, I think so. Given ~4 rounds and enough buildup it can solo a BAD. The Perma-Spike is an almost impenetrable last line of defence, whether you go 2-0-5 or 0-2-5. On Reddit, there's a challenge called CHIMPSPAS, which is the normal CHIMPS rules plus no Perma-Spike, alchemist or super monkey. Given its astounding capabilities and the fact there's a fan-made challenge banning it (not spike factory, just the upgrade), I think it's OP. What are your thoughts?

    • Well on rounds with like 150-250 MOABs it’s weak and will be broken and about 100-175 banded MOABs 90-130 BFBs And you get the idea,it can take down a bad but 3 BADS will destroy it,so it depends if you have other towers that stop MOAB rushes or not

      But one thing to consider is that for a Tier 5 upgrade, it is on the cheaper side. Considering that it has high potential at the cost of a hefty downtime to reach that once its wall has been breached, it is nearly as costly as a Spectre for the potency of a B.A.D. clearer for Round 100.

      As a freeplay, it does dwindle, but that can arguably be the case for any Spike Factory for being weak against the ever-growing demand of Bloons. It's fundamentally weak on the core tower at that point, and I still think that the upgrade does its best to still do its own thing and still be powerful enough to use.

      Besides, a 500 damage spike at the normal rate is still nothing to scoff at as a general defensive or even offensive asset.

      True very true but I guess my favorite towers are more damage dealing and rush stoping than defending
