which is more effective against MOABs?

    • The Summon Phoenix is a better choice, since the Monkey Apprentice's tornadoes do not affect MOABs.

    • I would not recommand using Apprentice as your MOAB defense though. It is not worth the price. Tornado is too expensive, and can create accidental regrow farms. Doesn't affect MOABs either. Dragon's breath and it's upgrade is way too expensive. Only point in buying it would be if you farmed extremely early and you have too much spare cash and are looking for something decent.

What? Do you mean Dragon's Breath?

You are totally correct, but the thing is a bit different in the mobile version.

    • Sure, Dragon's Breath is more effective against MOABs than other Apprentices, but I would strongly suggest packed MOAB Maulers, and even more recommend them to be clumped into a single Monkey Village area.

    • In other words, Monkey Apprentices are bad against MOAB class bloons compared to most of the other towers.

Correct. And how about your recommendation?

    • I would recommand MOAB Maulers (x/3 bomb towers) and maybe even 3/1 (or higher) ninja's.

    • x/4 ninja's can be useful if your defenses are bad, 4/x bloon chipper (i think). Moab maulers are the best though.

In my opinion, I use 4/x Bloonchippers against ZOMGs. Super Wide Funnel is very expensive, and it itself cannot handle multiple MOABs at once. Grouped MOAB Maulers do best in my opinion.

    • ^ I do generically use MOAB Maulers and Spike Storms to defeat ZOMGs, and sometimes Super Monkeys, which is actually a good group to defeat the blimps.

It depends on the game you play.

If you play BMC, the use of TOTMG/TOTVMs is recommended. Spike Factories are also extremely good and should be used, especially 1/4 or 4/2. Apprentices are good but not themselves. I mean, they should be sacrificed in Temples which can launch a powerful Tornado attack that can also affect the MOAB class a bit. Ray of Doom is optional because of the cost and not that useful compared to the Temples.

In BTD Battles (flash), using Super Monkeys are not recommended because of the cost. Spike Factory is good for them. Using a whole lawn of 2/4 can defeat bloons up to round 50, I mean in defend mode. In Assault Mode, Bomb towers are probably better even that they can't go to as high level as the Spike Factory, but you should have defeated your opponent before and they are much cheaper.

For the Mobile version and steam, I am not really sure about strategies. However, note that the ninja monkey is better than in flash because of the reduced cost and the faster attack speed and the bloons are not that dense in the steam or mobile version. Bomb Towers can be used for MOABs and Glaive Riccochet don't work as good as in the flash version. The introduction of Monkey Sub and COBRA makes the game easier by some way. The sub also become a better camo lead detector than a 0/3 mortar and its cheap upgrades makes it easier to pop MOAB class bloons. For the COBRA, I don't really know about it.

In BTD5, the game is much easier. Spike factories, ninja monkeys and bomb towers should be your major towers. Ice towers can also be used under a village.

Unfortunately, I don't play bloon games anymore.

    • ^ Spactories are also a good choice when going against the infamous DDT.

    • So in conclusion: Always use alternatives to Apprentices for destroying MOABs.

Now this thread can close as intended.
