Here are my top 5s of a lot of Bloons stuff - f wonder if you agree...
Top 5 Upgrades in BTD5
1. Super Wide Funnel - Incredibly powerful against any MOAB-class bloon. One can strip off a whole ZOMG layer, then start attacking the BFBs!
2. Temple of the Monkey God - Expensive, but a Maxed Temple stops infinite BFBs if in a 2/0 Monkey Village!
3. Glaive Riccochet - Shoots quickly, and pops huge numbers of bloons!
4. Bloonjitsu - 2 can destroy a MOAB and its children!
5. Arctic Wind - Strips infinite Ceramics to Zebras, and with MIB can pop infinite Ceramics!
Top 5 worst upgrades.
1. Deadly Precision - Against Rainbows or lower, its 2/3 counterpart beats it. Against Ceramics it is good, but the cheaper 2/3 pops 50% more of them into yellows, which can be beaten by 2/2 Mortar. As for MOABs and up, 2/3 wins again. Just don't use Deadly Precision unless you want Cripple MOAB.
2. Bloon Liquefier - A 4/2 Glue Gunner costs around $19,000, which is slightly MORE than the 3/2 Ice tower and 2/3 Village. And the former can deal with 6 ceramics per shot, whilst the latter can deal with infinite Ceramics. Only for Temple sacrificing.
3. Tempest Tornado - For £8000, you expect more from this upgrade than it delivers. It is only good as a Temple sacrifice or for regrow farming. For other purposes, there are much better upgrades out there.
4. Point Five Oh - This is only good against Rainbows, Zebras and Leads. Otherwise, use 1/1 Snipers with other towers for the mess. However, this upgrade is worth it if you already have Semi-Automatic Rifle.
5. Glue Striker - This costs much more than Absolute Zero, and Absolute Zero freezes bloons instead of slowing them.
Top 5 Classic Errors of BTD5
1. Tower Overkill - Almost everyone buys stuff they don't need yet. You could spend that money better on farms or a Monkey Village. If on a Hard game on an Advanced track or lower, you have less than 4 BRFs by the end (or equivalent to generate $12,000 per round), you are underfarming. Remember that farms can be sold in an emergency - even a farm 'living' for 3 rounds is a profit. As for the Monkey Village, a rule of thumb is that if the upgrade costs more than $5000 and you don't need it urgently, get the monkey village, buy the upgrade, then sell it if you want. If it costs more than $16,000, ALWAYS use the village, even if you need it urgently as it will lower the cost by more than the $1600 for the village.
2. Useless upgrades - There is no Camo, Regrow or Lead in Freeplay, so don't buy useless stuff like lead-popping or camo detection upgrades unless you need higher ones or they have other effects. This doesn't apply in BMC because the rounds are random, and there are deadly DDTs.
3. Forgetting the rounds - Memorise the tough rounds - R24 has camo, 28 has lead, 40 has ceramic, 42 has Rainbow Regrow and Camo, 46 has MOAB, 59 has Camo-Lead, 60 has BFB, 85 has ZOMG etc. Be prepared.
4. Not micro-managing - Be prepared to use Road Spikes and Pineapples on bloons if needed. Also, control any Dartling Guns effectively. You should also move your Mortar's target position if there is a massive rush.
5. Overspending Monkey Money - Don't spend more Monkey Money than the reward, unless you want the Awesome Points.
Top 5 most annoying bloons
1. DDT - These only appear on DDT tiles in BMC, and in Contested Territory. On Contested Territory, they make their first appearance around R31-33. You will need a Monkey Intelligence Bureau with 10-12 MOAB Maulers to pop the DDT layer, or a 4/2 Spike Factory can pop the DDT and its children.
2. Regrow Rainbows - The ultimate nightmare of a poor defense. They first appear on Round 42 on BTD5, Round 13 (sent) in BTD Battles and on Ceramic or higher tiles on BMC. Use Rings of Fire or fast-damaging towers. Avoid slowing towers, especially Arcitc Wind. However, Tornadoes are useful for Regrow Farming
3. ZOMGs - With 4 BFBs inside, these require 4000 hits to crack, as well as solid BFB, MOAB and ceramic popping power. First appears on Round 85 (BTD5), Round 22 (sent) in BTD Battles and on ZOMG tiles, as well as later Blimp Pack and DDT tiles in BMC. MOAB Maulers aren't very good against them - they are best for the contents. Arctic Wind and 2/3 Village is good for ceramics, and 4/2 Bloonchippers for the ZOMG layer. Also, 4/2 Snipers are good for slowing the ZOMG down.
4. Camo Leads - This combo of abilities makes these bloons very tough. They first appear on Round 59 in BTD5, Round 12 (sent) in BTD Battles and on Rainbow or higher tiles in BMC. Try a 2/3 Mortar to set pop the lead layer, set fire to the blacks and de-camo them, or a Juggernaut facing a long straight to strip off the lead layer.
5. Regrow Ceramics - Like Regrow Rainbows but worse. There is a massive rush of them on R76 (BTD5), they can be sent from R16(BTD Battles) or can be seen on MOAB tiles and up on BMC. Use Sun Gods or Spectres to pop them quickly.
