BTDB2

Many, many tacks.
~ BTDB2 description

The Tack Zone is the 5th tier upgrade on Path 3 for the Tack Shooter in Bloons TD Battles 2. It shares similarities to the pre-33.0 BTD6 stats of the BTD6 counterpart, except that it has the pre-25.0 BTD6 Tack Zone costs. It has a higher cost, sharp damage type, and short base range and pierce with more base damage per tack.

The upgrade costs $24,000 and has 30 range, firing 32 tacks at once, each tacks with 4 pierce, in a radially symmetric fashion. Path 1 crosspathing will impart increased rate of fire, while Path 2 crosspathing will give the Tack Zone enhanced range and pierce, 10 with 0-2-5. The tower can not pop camo without external support. It is unlocked with the other tier 5 Tack Shooter upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

The Tack Zone excels in middle and late game due to its relatively low cost for a tier-5 tower, very high rate of fire, high projectile count and long projectile range. Placing the Tack Zone close to bends in the track will maximize the number of tacks used.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

The Tack Zone is both reasonably inexpensive for a Tier 5 upgrade, works extremely well with Alch buffs, and greatly excels at shredding MOAB-class bloons. It does still suffer from being poor at popping DDTs underneath, but it is formidable against any other blimp type when given the right supports.

Tips[]

  • 2-0-5 almost always offers the better results. 0-2-5 offers much more pierce and range, but there's always other options for high pierce anyway.
  • Given the versatility of this upgrade, a player will typically have The Tack Zone as their first Tier 5 upgrade in BTDB2.
