The Big One is the 4th upgrade of Path 1 for the Mortar Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. Functionally, it is similar to its BTD6 counterpart without the extra shock damage to Ceramics, and a few lesser statistics at a higher cost and innate popping of Black Bloon properties.
Explosions deal 7 damage, hit up to 80 bloons including Black Bloon properties, and burning effects as a crosspath deal 5 damage per 0.675s for up to 1.875s, the damage of 3 ticks adding to 15 damage. Targets affected by the main explosion are stunned for 0.4s. Blast radius increased to 56 for main explosion, 29 for the stunwave, and 87 for the outer shockwave. The outer shockwave deals 1 damage and has more pierce compared to the main explosion, 85 pierce.
It costs $7,300, and is unlockable with the purchase of Mortar Monkey.
Substantial bloon damage plus stuns. It is very expensive, packs huge pierce, but most importantly it is reliable at taking down all-out regular bloon rushes, aside from Camos.
Tips[]
4-2-0 is usually better than 4-0-2. While 4-0-2 has a much stronger burn effect, 4-2-0's consistent damage and stun is usually better, especially because it can naturally stun Blacks and Zebras.

“
Mortar is another tower that has maintained a dominant presence in the meta for a while now. Similarly to Sub, we decreased the decamo pierce so that it can no longer be relied on as consistently. 3xx also stood out as a top tier mid-game option and x5x’s buff resulted in Mortar being fantastic late game, giving Mortar too many strong points.

4.0
The Big One main explosion pierce decreased from 85 to 80

4.1
The Big One: blast radius 58 -> 56
“
Mortar Monkey still excels in the current meta. We have reduced its blast radius, but increased (and fixed) the buff that Jones and Bones give it so that it remains similarly effective when paired with either of these heroes.

Trivia[]
The $7500 upgrade cost of The Big One as of Version 1.6.0 is the same cost as its current BTDB1 Mobile counterpart, which also costs $7500 for the upgrade alone.
Like most of the tower-specific upgrade descriptions that were changed on Version 4.0.3, the updated description for The Big One contributed as suggestions by u/qwertyxp2000 on r/battles2, via the post "Some upgrade inconsistencies as of Version 4.0.2". However, these changes were accidentally reverted in Version 4.1 before bringing back on Version 4.1.1, due to Ninja Kiwi mistakingly forgetting to implement Version 4.0.3's changes into Version 4.1.
