Rules for Ten
Ten is a game mode in Bloons TD 5 Mobile and Bloons TD 5 Steam, introduced in Version 4.0 to commemorate the game's tenth anniversary. It is a modifier that can be applied to any main game mode, similar to Reverse and Fast Track, and can be used in any combination of the three.
Ten restricts the player's available towers to ten types, consisting of the five introduced in Bloons Tower Defense (Dart Monkey, Tack Shooter, Bomb Tower, Ice Tower, and Super Monkey) and five of the six introduced in Bloons TD 5 (Sniper Monkey, Ninja Monkey, Heli Pilot, Monkey Engineer, and Monkey Sub, but not the Bloonchipper). Road Spikes, Exploding Pineapples, and all Special Agents are also restricted.
Completing Ten on any difficulty awards a Ten medal for that track. Separate Ten medals can be earned for standard play, Co-op, and Mastery.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
While Ten does not pose much of an additional challenge on easier game modes and tracks, it becomes a much more significant factor on harder modes due to the restrictions on Monkey Villages, Banana Farms, and Special Agents (especially the Super Monkey Storm). The lack of discounts and income options is especially an issue in Mastery due to its reductions to income. For this reason, it is best to play Ten on Easy if one only wants to earn its medals.
Tips[]
- Supply Drop, Bloon Trap, and Support Chinook are the only means of generating additional income in this mode.
- Some Specialty Buildings that benefit towers in Ten have no downside due to the affected towers being restricted: Dart Training Facility (no Boomerang Thrower), Bombing Range (no Spike Factory), Ice Fortress (no Glue Gunner), Super Monkey Lair and Heli Hangar (no Monkey Apprentice), and Engineer's Workshop (no Bloonchipper).
- Due to the lack of Radar Scanner, Camo Bloons are much more of a threat when using towers that lack Camo detection (Tack Shooter, Bomb Tower, Ice Tower, Super Monkey, and Monkey Engineer to a lesser extent). Without Specialty Buildings, the only means of removing Camo are Cleansing Foam, which is unreliable against large groups of Camo Bloons, and Submerge and Support, which can only be used on tracks with water due to the Portable Lake being restricted. For this reason, the tier 4 Ice Fortress is recommended for dealing with Camo Bloons on tracks without water.
- The cheapest way to pop the Camo Lead Bloons on Round 59 is with a Sniper Monkey with Full Metal Jacket and Night Vision Goggles.
- Round 82 is particularly dangerous in this mode due to the large number of Camo Regrow Rainbow Bloons.

Trivia[]
- The Bloonchipper is restricted in Ten, despite being introduced in BTD5. The reasons for this have never been officially stated, though it should be noted that its absence from BTD6 has been consistently attributed to the developers' regret in creating it.
- Additionally, considering the mode was created to commemorate the game's tenth anniversary, it was likely excluded along with the Special Agents to keep the number of towers limited to ten types.
