Target Bloon Midpoints is an attacking style in Bloons TD 6 and Bloons Adventure Time TD that presents an unusual way of handling a tower's range.

In most Bloons TD games, towers will usually attack bloons as long as a significant part of the bloons' hitboxes overlaps with the detection range of a tower. This especially means that MOAB-Class Bloons can be attacked by finite-range towers even when the attacking towers cannot reach the track the blimps are traveling on, simply because of the blimps' large size. Attacks with Target Bloon Midpoints are exceptions to this trend, and can only attack a bloon if the middle of that bloon is in the tower's range. These towers will ignore the passing bloon if that condition is not met.

The Bloons Wiki uses Target Bloon Midpoints, the portrait of an unupgraded Glue Gunner, to represent this attacking style.

History of Targeting Bloon Midpoints[]

Bloons TD 6[]

There are not many attacks with this property in BTD6:

Bloons Adventure Time TD[]

In stark contrast to other Bloons TD games, Target Bloon Midpoints is the default way of handling tower range in Bloons Adventure Time TD, with virtually every finite-ranged attack possessing this property. This fact is most apparent in MOAB-Class Bloons, which will be ignored by towers, save for on-track items, even if a significant portions of themselves are visually in range, simply because their midpoints are not also in range. Whether a tower can also see the track the bloons are traveling on is a generally good indicator on whether a tower can attack the bloons' midpoints.
