| “ | Supply Drop Ability: drops a crate full of cash. Regular attack also damages Lead Bloons and increases Shrapnel popping power. | ” |
| ~ BTDB2 description |
$2000 from a collected Supply Drop crate
Supply Drop is the 4th upgrade on Path 2 of the Sniper Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is similar to its BTD6 counterpart, except much stronger at income compared to its raw damage.
The Supply Drop ability has only 15s initial cooldown, drops crates worth $2000 cash, and the upgrade costs less. Cooldown has also been greatly reduced, down to 50 seconds cooldown. However, shrapnel only deals have 3 pierce, an increase of 1 from Bouncing Bullet. Bullets bounce up to 5 times within 50 range between each target.
Like Bouncing Bullet, crosspaths do improve the shrapnel in addition to the bullets. In addition to the usual bullet benefits, 1-4-0 crosspath improves shrapnel so it pops Frozen and Lead, while 2-4-0 increases shrapnel damage to 2.
Path 3 crosspath also decreases ability cooldown, with both 0-4-1 and 0-4-2 crosspaths decreasing it by 5 seconds each (down to 40 seconds).
It costs $5,800, and is unlocked with the purchase of Sniper Monkey.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
Supply Drop's dual offense and income generation makes it incredibly strong at building a solid income growth, particularly whenever the game is set to play at a stalemate. Tapping the ability as soon as is ready gives essentially an equivalent 300 eco. The main draw with this upgrade compared to other options is being able to use other Sniper upgrades as well as not needing to rely exclusively on eco to grow income.
When compared to Jungle's Bounty and Support Chinook, the other two income-based abilities, Supply Drop has the least efficient income per tower but is the most space-efficient, while also having a small amount of grouped popping power, including camo-popping, to slightly offset its weak cash generation.
Tips[]
- 0-4-2 does a better job at cleanup, has lower ability cooldown, and is cheaper to buy, but 2-4-0 is stronger and deals with stronger bloons better. However, most of the time Supply Drop is used in conjunction with other towers, given the limited offense of Supply Drop.
Version History[]

| “ | At launch, Sniper and other alternative income sources dominated the meta but since then we have made a lot of changes and Sniper is no longer considered to be a particularly effective source of income. We are giving it a little boost in efficiency so that it can compete with other income sources. [...] | ” |

| “ | We were a little too successful in trying to increase the popularity of the Sniper Monkey as it is now the single most used tower in the game, surpassing even the Banana Farm. Sniper’s popularity is due to its versatility as an income source that also excels with both group popping through its shrapnel shot and at single targets with its high damage. We believe the primary culprit for Sniper’s dominance is the x3x Bouncing Bullet’s ability to create multiple bursts of high damage shrapnel so we have capped it to 1 burst per shot and also moved the 1xx shrapnel damage upgrade to 3xx so that only dedicated top path snipers can benefit from it. We’ve also increased the cooldown of the Supply Drop ability and added ability cooldown reductions to the bottom path to create a choice between the more offensive 240 Sniper farm or the more efficient 042. | ” |

- 4.3.1 OTA Update 1
Affected by Bouncing Bullets bounce increase
| “ | The sniper has remained reasonably popular despite its nerf, although nothing close to the level of its glory days. While forcing a choice between high damage and cash generation paths was the point of the nerfs, it did leave Bouncing Bullet, a pure damage upgrade on the cash generation path, in a bit of a sad state. Without the extra shrapnel, we can afford to make the pierce much better without compromising the identity of the middle path. [...] | ” |
