Superstorm blasts all bloon types for massive damage and blows them away from the exit
~ BTDB2 description
Superstorm blowback btdb2

Superstorm blowback against masses of Fortified DDTs (pre-1.2.0)

Superstorm is the 5th upgrade on Path 1 of the Druid in Bloons TD Battles 2. It grants the druid a fourth attack, the supertornado, that can blow back and damage MOAB-class bloons. Each supertornado can hit up to 150 regular bloons, 30 MOABs (each using 5 pierce), 8 BFBs (each using 20 pierce), 5 DDTs (each using 30 pierce), and 3 ZOMGs (each using 50 pierce). While active, the supertornado regularly summons stronger ball lightnings. In addition, Heart of Thunder's lightning attack deals 3 damage instead of 1, and Ball Lightning's lightning deals 5 damage instead of 2. The Druid also gains camo detection from this upgrade, attached with Camo Prioritization target option. Blowback distance for this supertornado attack is always 250.

Overall, it is similar to its BTD6 counterpart, except it does less pierce but much stronger blowback, including full ZOMG blowback. Also, DDTs consume 30 pierce instead of 10, and lightning damage matches the BTD6 pre-33.0 variant. Super tornadoes also regularly summon ball lightnings while active, just like in BTD6.

It costs $55,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Druid upgrades for Monkey Money 1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Powerful for stalling out MOAB-class bloons for a near-indefinite state. However, it can be overwhelmed if there are too many blimps. The preferred crosspath is 5-0-2, as it allows the Druid to summon supertornadoes faster. Because thorns are no longer the druid's main attack, the 5-2-0 crosspath is not very useful. It is also a good idea to place 5 Poplusts around it to further increase its attack speed, as well as utilize Heart of Vengeance to maximize attack speed of the tornadoes.

Tips[]

  • Try ensuring the 5-0-2 Superstorm has vengeance buffs in order to maximize attack speed.
  • If a supertornado still has pierce left, it can still blow back MOAB-class bloons even if they consume more pierce than it has left. For instance, a raw unbuffed supertornado, which has 150 pierce, can blow back up to 8 BFBs despite the fact that would theoretically require 160 pierce; its pierce consumption is pretty generous.

3.3
  • BUFF Superstorm cost decreased from $60,000 to $55,000
