~ Short description |
Supermonkey is a monkey hero in Bloons Adventure Time TD that the player can unlock for beating the adventure "Wake Up Call" in Lemongrab on any difficulty (formerly only Extreme Difficulty). Supermonkey functions similarly to how he does in previous Bloons TD games, but can be only placed once at a time in this game as he is a Hero character. He costs $3000 to place, and uses Dart weapons. Unlike in Bloons TD 6, his Disarming Charisma upgrade can pop Purple Bloons, but Laser Eyes and above can't unless he equips the Dagger of Chilled Glass. Due to Supermonkey's sheer power, he can solo many rounds if given the right trinkets so he can destroy all types of Bloons.

Star Boost[]
Supermonkey will receive the following permanent boosts as he levels up:
- 2 stars - Base attack pierce increased by 1
- 4 stars - Base range increased by 3
- 6 stars - Base attack cooldown decreased by 0.01*
- 8 stars - Base attack pierce increased by 2
- 9 stars - Base range increased by 4
- 10 stars - Starts with Heroic Aura pre-purchased for free
*Shows "attack speed increased by X" in the official patch notes - this is misleading. The attack speed stat is the inverse of attack cooldown.
Strategy[]
Where did the strategy go? This article is currently missing important strategy to make sufficient use of the subject. If you know one, please help by including it on this page. |
Supermonkey is one of, if not the best, DPS tower in the game, especially on Impoppable and Extreme difficulty. Giving him camo detection is extremely important for him. Giving him camo trinkets should let him handle DDTs. For players seeking to fully optimize his Heroic Aura upgrade, place towers inside of his range so he can discount them. Speed and damage are the best stats to buff for him, since he already has a plenty of range and pierce with his upgrades.
Tips[]
- With Supermonkey's fast attack speed, he is basically 1 Heart Gauntlets trinket away from attacking 30 times a second. After reaching that, speed upgrades are useless. Using Jake with Golden Viola/Tuxedo Jake's Speed up upgrade and one more 5% attack speed upgrade, such as Treetrunks' Apple Knife or Instrument characters with Lute Suits in range, give boosts to most characters and maxes Supermonkey's attack speed. Alternatively, Lemonhope can be used for reaching the speed cap if the player does not have Heart Gauntlets, so that trinket slots can be used on damage or range instead.
- Sun Avatar provides very little damage increase for the price, so it should only be acquired if Supermonkey is pierce capped.
- Because Supermonkey can easily reach the attack speed cap, it is best if he has damage and MOAB damage trinkets and a damage weapon. Dr Monkey's Secret Weapon is overall the best weapon for him, because of its large amount of damage and range it provides for Supermonkey.
Notes[]
- If the player does nothing on the character screen for a few seconds, Supermonkey will either hover above the ground or move his hands around and bow.
- Supermonkey is part of a hidden, special upgrade for Captain Cassie. If Supermonkey is upgraded to the Sun Avatar and is in range of Cassie while she has the Bloon Pillage upgrade, a hidden upgrade will appear on her upgrade screen called Treasure Hunter. Purchasing this upgrade gives the player extra cash at the end of each round, and also unlocks a hidden achievement.
- In Martian Games events with the Send in the Clones rule, activating the Sun God ability once will instantly transform all Supermonkeys with that ability upgrade into Sun Gods, requiring only four Super Fans on the map in the process, provided that the player already has a COBRA with the Monkey Stim upgrade. Trivia[]
- Despite Sun Avatar's description saying its attack is "a wide stream of hot fiery doom", it still shoots a single solid stream of yellow plasma that deals Plasma damage, not Fire . It can be further explained that it does not really set bloons on fire, as otherwise implied in the description.
- In addition, unlike the Sun Avatar/God in previous games, Supermonkey does not shoot three projectiles at a time.
- Supermonkey's Sun God transformation sound is the same as the upgrade/relogging-in sound for Sun Avatar in BTD6.
- Laser Whips, which was a reference to BSM1 and 2, was an upgrade that has replaced by Disarming Charisma. It could pop all types of bloons, including Purple Bloons, unlike its BSM2 counterpart.
- It was removed from the game as it would spawn shards from Frozen Throwing Knives unintentionally, then when that was patched it was an unpopular upgrade. JoeyRainStorm, a Ninja Kiwi developer, stated that "the reason we removed laser whips wasn't necessarily due to its actual power. We just didn't really like the design of it in general" in one instance, and "laser whips was a very poorly designed upgrade, none of the numbers worked as intended and looked awful visually >_<" as the justification for replacing it with Disarming Charisma.
- This, Energy Beacon, Heavy Tips, Farsight and Soulbind are the only upgrades which have been replaced by another upgrade.
