Using Super Maelstrom ability (Before Version 1.5.0)
Super Maelstrom is the 5th upgrade of Path 2 for the Tack Shooter in Bloons TD Battles 2. It acts like the BTD6 counterpart pre-38.0, except the ability blades do not ignore Line of Sight.
Super Maelstrom blades deal 2 damage. The main blades don't gain extra pierce, remaining at 6, but the ability blades each have a massive 500 pierce, regardless of crosspaths. While the Super Maelstrom ability is active, it distributes blades in a continously rotational manner, spewing quad sprays of blades every 0.0333s, for a duration of 9 seconds, and an ability cooldown of 20 seconds.
It costs $15,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Tack Shooter upgrades for 
1500.

Summary[]
The Super Maelstrom ability shoots quadruplet blades that continually are shot rotationally. The ability is a much more powerful version of the Blade Maelstrom ability, and is used mostly to clean up against massive groups of weaker blimps. It is also viable as a way to destroy higher-tier blimps quicker, particularly in combination with universal buffs such as Overclock. Duration of the ability is quite generous, but don't rely on letting the ability always run for cleanup, and hence proper timing is necessary for handling a critical rush.
Tips[]
- Use crosspaths as appropriate. Note that the ability is unaffected by crosspaths.
- While the Super Maelstrom ability can no longer ignore Line of Sight, this particular attribute is mostly only a problem on maps that contain obstacles nearby usable track, such as In the Wall and Oasis.
- Each blade does 2 damage, which means that using the ability when there are dense Bloons surrounding it would clear them out easily.
