Speed Battles rules

Speed Battles is a gamemode added in Bloons TD Battles 2. It was first added on the Version 1.4.0 update, and first released on 8th July 2022, two days after the update. On this game mode, bloons move 50% faster, eco generates every 4.2s instead of 6.0s, and bloon sends unlock one round earlier. Unlike Battles 1, bloon modifiers (Regrow, Camo, and Fortified) also unlock one round earlier too.

Summary[]

Go fast, build a defense that defends early spaced bloons well while sustaining into the late-game against groups of bloons. Eco is dominant on this game mode, so make full use of the bloon sends you are provided in the first ten rounds in particular. Bloons move much faster, making it much harder for slow towers to handle, especially in the early rounds, so it is recommended to start with a fairly quick tower in combination with supports later on in the game.

Tips[]

  • Blade Shooter is the strongest easy-to-use starting tower for Speed Battles in the early rounds. It can reliably defend against Spaced Greens while sustaining in further early rounds. It is cheap enough that eco bloons can still be sent simultaneously at the opponent while saving up for Blade Shooter at the same time.
  • Remember, this gamemode promotes aggression. Either play defensive and flip the switch on your opponent when it's time, or just eco a lot and still somehow agitate your opponent.
  • Constantly check your defenses. Your opponent may see something you can't, or vice versa. Even if you can counter camo-lead, what about a camo-lead-moab class bloon?
  • A 3-0-2 Engineer Monkey helps clear through those early rounds, as you get more firepower than its more known cousin, but with bottom path, you can farm with the bloons your opponent sends at you instead.
  • Spaced Greens are the best starting bloon send to spam out in Round 1, forcing the opponent to get defense while having enough money to gather defenses yourself.
