~ Description of "Shooty Turret" at Level 13+
The Shooty Turret is an item available in Geraldo's Shop at Level 1. It is a sub-tower which shoots arrows every 1.5s that deal 2 Damage and have 10 pierce. Turrets purchased after Geraldo reaches Level 13 will shoot arrows every 0.8s with 5 damage and 10 pierce. Geraldo starts off with two Shooty Turrets in stock, and refreshes each one every 4 rounds, up to four Shooty Turrets.
Shooty Turrets have a footprint radius of 3 Range Units, among the smallest non-zero footprints in the game. Shooty Turrets do not expire, and the pop count of each individual Turret counts towards Geraldo's total pop count. They are also classified as Support Towers based on their orange portrait background and eligibility to be placed on the Support Platform on Encrypted.
Shooty Turrets are cheap, deployable units that provide an excellent bolster to Geraldo's early game popping power, or, offer a way to cover other lanes/regions of the track. Having a considerable amount of them contribute to Geraldo's total popping power while also consuming minimal footprint. By inheriting Geraldo's buffs, they also wield significant power in the late-game.
Tips[]
Shooty Turrets consume a very small footprint, allowing a lot of Shooty Turrets to be placed in a condensed area.
Keep in mind however that Shooty Turrets will go out of stock after four purchases at a time, but will regenerate stock slowly over time.
They have a high damage cap for a tower of its cost which makes it a tower to contend with other early-game towers.
Existing Level 1 Shooty Turrets don't upgrade automatically when Geraldo upgrades to Level 13. It may help to avoid buying Shooty Turrets at one level before Geraldo reaches Level 13; this helps stock more of these empowered turrets.
Shooty Turret can be affected by the Monkey Knowledge Point "Weak Point", giving each turret +1 Ceramic and +1 Fortified damage.
Level 13+ Shooty Turrets are very cheap for their cost of DPS, allowing large quantities of Shooty Turrets to reliably chip extra damage to bloons and blimps, which is helpful for late-game CHIMPS rounds where most towers have little space. An example of a map where Shooty Turrets work well at is Dark Dungeons' left-hand room.
Large quantities of Shooty Turrets scattered around the map can act as cheap ranged intel for Advanced Intel, and if Geraldo has the See Invisibility Potion, he and his Shooty Turrets will become cheap camo intel too.
Bugs[]
Shooty Turrets that are rotated (either via Sanctuary or Geared) show an additional, rotated base when the platform is not in the position it was in when the Shooty Turret was placed.
Placing down 3 or more Shooty Turrets will earn the achievement Collaborate! without needing Co-op.
