~ BTDB2 description
Shimmer is the 3rd upgrade of Path 3 for the Wizard Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. Like its BTD6 counterpart, it decamos bloons. However, shimmer is faster but not as piercing. Shimmer pierces up to 200 bloons and triggers every 1.5s (instead of 2.5s in BTD6) but affects 70 range, which is much longer than its base attacking range of 40.
It costs $1,500, and is available after unlocking Wizard Monkey.
Slow and expensive source of camo detection, which is much more expensive than Submerge and Support while only having the advantage of slightly more range.
Tips[]
Shimmer can be used as a transition into Necromancer. Also can be used to slightly counter early camos from an opponent's Agent Jericho or his Hero Alts.

Overall price increase is $0, due to base Wizard buff.
“
Arcane Mastery seems to be in a decent spot, but it has poor stepping stones in the early game, so we have buffed the lower tiers leading up to it. Arcane Mastery, Wall of Fire, and Shimmer have all had their price increased so that they do not indirectly get buffed from the price cuts.

We still feel that Wizard Monkey could do with some minor improvements, with a slightly cheaper decamo and some added crosspathing changes that make sense. [...]

Trivia[]
The Shimmer's price buffs had inspired a similar buff in BTD6.
