Have fun trashing the Bloons on the new Beginner map: Scrapyard
~ Ninja Kiwi, partial quote from Version 31.0 App Store notes
9 Track in the center of scrapyard

Scrapyard is a Beginner Map in Bloons TD 6. It was first announced in the Version 31.0 preview notes, and released for Version 31.0, alongside Geraldo and Vortex: Deadly Master of Air.

Overview[]

Piles of old cars, discarded tires, corrugated metal, and a Bloonchipper can be seen among the junk in the scrapyard. Crates and construction equipment make appearance in this dumpster in rather pristine condition, likely for use inside the scrapyard. None of the items in the scrapyard can be interacted with or removed, with the exception of the compressor.

Placed around halfway the bloon track, there is a wide compressor, which can be activated for free. When the compressor's button is tapped, it slams shut stunning for 6 seconds and dealing 5 damage and +5 Ceramic damage to any bloons underneath. However MOAB-class bloons are immune to the compressor's damage and stun. The compressor has Normal damage type and infinite pierce. The compressor has a cooldown of 60 seconds, and a full initial cooldown (cooldown can be instantly reset by Geraldo's Rejuv Potion). It is ready once the button turns from red to blue.

Towers cannot see over the scraps nor can they be placed on them. On the borders of the scrapyard is metal fencing that does not serve as a bounceable wall for bouncy projectiles such as Spike-o-pult and Juggernaut. Towers can also be placed on the crates, up to as large as a Super Monkey. The crates serve as high ground relative to the map. Crates are wide enough in length and width to place up to one medium or large tower, or up to two small towers.

Bloons enter from the top left, go through the bottom pin-loop, then upper right loop, and around upper left loop through the uppermost horizontal path where bloons finally take two more right turns to exit at the bottom left of the map.

Summary[]

Tips[]

  • Make use of the compressor to get rid of a chunk of bloons whenever necessary. It can damage all non-blimp bloons and has no pierce limit, making it valuable against rounds containing Immune Bloons like Lead Bloons.
  • This map is the longest map with a RBS of 60.73 barely beating out Logs, which has 60.33 RBS.

Quotes[]

  • New Beginner Map, Scrapyard!
    • Old cars and other scrap go to die in places off the beaten track, but the Bloons have even found this remote location; defend the derelicts and don’t forget to play with the heavy machinery!
    • Sorry to the players who submitted similar ideas during the competition, but we already had our own idea in the works for a while now

Trivia[]

  • Geraldo 1TC is possible on this map if he can be afforded, but requires the compressor in order to accomplish this goal, since the Bottle of 'Gerry's Fire' Hot Sauce cannot be bought by Round 28. As a result, the 1TC is impossible on any other map. As of v34, this is no longer possible due to Geraldo's price increase rendering it impossible to start with him.
  • According to Ninja Kiwi's 29th July 2022 blog, the Engineer Monkey is the one who put the Bloonchipper in the map Scrapyard.
  • Due to a false positive in the word filters, the word "Scrapyard" is filtered out because it contains the word "crap", an example of the Scunthorpe problem.
