Rounds in Bloons TD Battles 2 mostly follow the even numbered normal rounds from Bloons TD 6, but with some changes:

Differences
  • Round 4: Blue wave bloon count and duration halved, all other bloons moved forward 5 seconds
  • Round 5: 30 blues in first wave, lasts 11.6s, followed by 15 blues in second wave, lasts 7s, third wave unchanged
  • Round 7: Only bloons contained in second red bloon wave are included - with yellows replaced by pinks and 4 yellows added between the green and pink bloons
  • Round 9: 30 greens in first wave, lasts 12.5s, second wave unchanged
  • Round 11: 25 white bloons instead of 16
  • Round 12: 60 blue bloons after the camo instead of 20
  • Round 13: 12 zebra bloons instead of 4, with a 2 second gap removed
  • Round 15: Round 31 from BTD6
  • Round 16: 20 purple bloons instead of 10
  • Round 17: Rainbows instead of zebras, and there are 18 of them. Yellows are more dense with the shorter duration of the round.
  • Round 19: 6 ceramic bloons instead of 2, 6 second gap removed, and the wave is 2s longer (so overall the round is 4s shorter)
  • Round 21: 10 camo rainbows instead of 5, regrow rainbows are replaced with 20 normal rainbows
  • Round 22: Rainbows instead of zebras
  • Round 23: 10 fortified ceramic bloons instead of 6
  • Round 24: 10 Pink Bloons instead of 40, duration shortened to 3 seconds. Purple and Ceramic bloon waves come 12 seconds sooner, 60 camo regrow purple instead of 30, 6 fortified ceramic instead of 3
  • Round 25: 20 fortified lead bloons instead of 8 and the wave is 2s longer (round length unchanged)
  • Round 31: Regrow property removed from all bloons
  • Round 38: Round 77 from BTD6
  • Round 39: The first wave of ceramic bloons has no spacing, making it look like a singular ceramic bloon. The second ceramic group appears the same way in Speed Events.
  • Round 52: Normal DDTs spawn sooner and are more dense, and there are 50 of them.
  • Round 69: The first 2 BADs are closer together.

In update 1.9, Bananza added 51 more rounds to the round set, with 51-90 being the mostly same as rounds 101-140 from BTD6. Rounds 91-99 in Bananza are modifications of already existing rounds.

Round 100 in Bananza consists 2 Fortified BADs, just like Round 200 in BTD6, and Round 101 in Bananza contains a deadly rush of 10 Fortified BADs.

At Round 40 (100 in Bananza), the game enters Sudden Death mode. If both players have the same number of lives after Round 40 ends, both players will have their lives reduced to 1 and once round 50 (101 in Bananza) is reached, all means of income generation are disabled, much like Deflation in Bloons TD 6. During Sudden Death, the only way players may retrieve money is by selling towers. Sudden Death lasts until either one of the players leaks a bloon (win/lose outcome) or no bloons are left on screen (resulting in a draw). Round 50 (101 in Bananza) is the last round, but it will last indefinitely as long as there are bloons are on screen.

In BTD Battles 2, the next round starts when one of the following conditions are met:

  1. Two seconds have passed since all the bloons have been popped on both sides.
  2. Four seconds have passed since all the bloons have been popped on one side.
  3. The current round number * 1.5 + 8.5 seconds have passed since all the bloons have spawned in the round.
  4. Minimum time of 5.5 seconds have passed since all the bloons have spawned in the round if all bloons are popped (excluding speed battles).

Bloons are referred here as AI bloons (i.e. naturally spawned bloons).
