In Bloons TD 6, rounds serve as each stage of bloon waves, which progressively send generally stronger bloon waves upon beating further rounds. Most game modes start at Round 1, but there are exceptions: In all Hard Difficulty modes, rounds start at Round 3, while Impoppable and CHIMPS start at Round 6. After round 81, MOAB-class bloons will become slightly tougher and faster each round, all Ceramic Bloons become Super Ceramic Bloons, and money per pop decreases (factored into the following table).

Rounds follow the same pattern across all games, with the exceptions of Alternate Bloons Rounds (accessible after beating Hard Standard) and Apopalypse Mode (accessible after beating Military Only in Medium).

Unless stated, assume that there are no health ramping or speed ramping for MOAB-class bloons. Bear in mind that Rounds 81+ modify normal Ceramics into Super Ceramics, which have 60 health (or 120 with Fortified) and release only one offspring per bloon below Ceramic.

List of rounds[]

Rounds in Standard Mode are generally pre-determined except for most rounds from Round 141 onwards.

Generally, each bloon popped is worth $1 and gain money reward $(100+R) after finishing round R. However, reaching certain rounds may include a reduction in cash-per-pop down to a certain percentage. Cash-per-pop tax begins on Round 51 (50%), followed by 61 (20%), 86 (10%), 101 (5%), and 121 (2%).

When Freeplay rounds are reached some things start to change. For example, from Round 81 onwards the Ceramic Bloons are replaced by Super Ceramic Bloons, the Bloons get progressively stronger and the cash per pop is reduced.   • Technically, beyond round 1,000, all bloon groups are guaranteed to spawn, so the only difference is their spawn order. This is because in game code, bloon groupings below BADs don't change beyond Round 263, the last BAD group adds on Round 511, and RBE budget reaches enough to spawn all bloon groupings after Round 1,000.
  • All rounds after 9,999 are preset. Rounds 10,000 and 10,006 have 200 fortified BADs, round 10,001 has 9,999 Fortified Ceramics and the rounds 10,002 - 10,005 have 100 of a non Fortified MOAB Class Bloons. Round 10,002 only has MOABs, 10,003 has only BFBs, 10,004 has only ZOMGs, and 10,005 has only DDTs.
  • Rounds 10,006+ Bloon spawns are only limited to 200 Fortified BADs (still randomized since it is split into two groups of 100, with one of them being 0 spacing).
  • The last round that bloon groups are defined for in freeplay is 10,133,701, however for whatever reason (most likely due to memory limitations), after round 536,928, Bloons stop spawning and the rounds end immediately, up until round 1,073,798, where it presumably loops in similar intervals of no bloons and the standard fortified BAD waves.
  • Bloons Tower Defense 6 has the most rounds that break up the randomized rounds after the constant beginning rounds compared to its prequels. Bloons Tower Defense 4 had rounds 1-75, then it skipped to 250. Bloons Tower Defense 5 had rounds 1-85, then it went random from then on. Bloons Tower Defense 6, however, breaks up the random "chunks" with many more pre-determined rounds than its prequels, as it includes: 163, 200, 263, and 10,000-10,005 after rounds 1-140.

Each round provides generally increasingly difficult challenges for the player, often requiring a specific type of defense to counter stronger bloons at different stages of the game. As general gameplay contains pre-determined rounds, it is best to memorize the progression of each round, including the order at which different bloon types may enter. Keep an eye on particularly outstanding rounds, especially "threatening" rounds.

In general, the "threatening" rounds typically either contain dense groups of bloons (such as R63, R75, R76, R78, R94, R96, R98, R103, R111, R128, and R131), sustained waves of faster bloons (e.g. R15, R95, R99, R106, R126, R128, and R138), or a milestone for new bloon properties (e.g. R24's Camo Green, R28's Leads, R38's Ceramics, R40's MOAB, R59's Camo Leads, R90's DDTs, and all MOAB-class bloon debut rounds: R40, R60, R80, R100, R119, and R140). In preparation for those rounds, have enough resources and pre-calculated defense to beat them.

Tips[]

  • Camo Bloons first appear on Round 24, but you should have a defense that is qualified to pop camo bloons by Round 33. You can avoid upgrading or placing down monkeys, just to pop camo bloons, by using the hero Etienne.
  • Try to memorize specific "threatening" rounds.

Temples feel like far too much of the bulk of total power in deeper Freeplay scenarios. While this is their role, ever since adding the hidden Vengeful version of the Temple the VTSG has pushed ahead so much that it nearly invalidates other freeplay tower options. While this change won't completely alter that, we have scaled back temples compared to the new Paragons & expensive regular towers by reducing the damage bonus of 555 temple by 33%, and also roughly easing up on the freeplay health ramping of MOABs by a similar amount

  • Rounds 106, 118, 126, 128, and 138 features lots of DDTs, just like rounds 63, 76, 78, 95, and 98 do with bloons.
    • At the end of round 106 it features dense rush of DDTs, just as round 76 ceramics do.
    • Round 118 consists of similar bloon rushes as Round 98, but Fortified DDTs replace Fortified BFBs on Round 98.
    • Round 126 features a long constant stream of DDTs, just as round 76 ceramics do.

    • Dense bloon groups like Rounds 63, 76, 78 ceramics or 90s' MOABs can be occured with great amount of Packed MOABs, Packed BFBs, or heavily grouped DDTs. The biggest threat among them are DDTs, as they are very fast and having numerous properties. You cannot even stall every DDTs you encounter for these rounds, as there are too many DDTs that they might overwhelm your defenses, and sustainable DDT countermeasures are the must. Decamo/Defortification methods are highly recommended for massive amount of DDTs.
  • Round 163, 200, 263 are "special rounds" that spawn specific Bloon types, unlike other post-140 freeplay rounds. The special rounds are each based on previous rounds before freeplay.
    • Round 163 features similar bloon rushes as Round 63, but they are all fortified, and it consists very long wave of Camo Regrow Fortified Super Ceramics. Fortified Camo Regrow Leads are also guaranteed to appear on this round.
    • Round 200 introduces two Fortified BADs similarly to how Round 100 features the first BAD bloon and Round 140 features one fortified BAD bloon. It is considerably more difficult version of Round 140, not only first BAD is fortified, but the second one is fortified too.
    • Round 263 features large rushes of Fortified DDTs and MOABs like a combination of Rounds 138 and 139. The Leads are replaced with Fortified DDTs and the Ceramics are replaced with MOABs, which can be Fortified, and appearing in much larger stacks. (DDTs are always fortified and their quantity is fixed)
  • Before version 25.0, in Rounds 101+, all spawned Purples were grouped with 0 spacing.
  • As of update 11.0, freeplay rounds past 100 has been buffed and as a result, the ramping occurs earlier. Previously, purples and ceramics would come from rounds 101-150, and BADs wouldn't spawn until round 125.
  • As of update 26.0, freeplay rounds before round 140 has been changed and as a result, purple bloons would come until round 132, leads and ceramics would come until round 129 and their quantities are fixed too. However, these bloons won't appear randomly past round 140.
  • As of update 27.0, as the beginning stage of pre-determined standard freeplay rounds contains Fortified Leads, now rounds 101-120 in Apopalypse/ABR are able to spawn stack of 100 Fortified Leads with 0 spacing.
  • Rounds 10,001, 10,002, 10,003, 10,004, and 10,005 all spawn only a single type of Bloon, with each round increasing the rank (for example, 10,001 spawns only Ceramics, and this increases until 10,006, where it spawns DDTs).

  • According to Ninja Kiwi's 30th July 2021 blog, Rohan from Ninja Kiwi desires a gamemode that uses the Freeplay rounds up to 140, although Boss Bloon Events already utilize pre-determined rounds up to 140.
  • Round 429562 is the first round to spawn no bloons. This is because rounds have a RBE budget, and this round overflows to negative. It is not until 859058 where the budget is a positive number again, resuming the 100 fBAD spawns. This was discovered by Twitch streamer "fool375", achievable by purchasing a Legend of the Night in the October 2, 2022 Advanced Challenge "Overly Thick Ceramics," because on top of being an advanced challenge with Legend of the Night enabled, it also had a 5% cooldown rate, allowing for Legend to have permanent black holes. At the time, Legend of the Night's Black Hole was on a 120s cooldown with an 8s duration, but the cooldown reduction made it a 6s cooldown instead, letting the LOTN maintain an infinite black hole. Combined with this challenge being faster than another previous 5% ability cooldown challenge, because of a shorter map and comparatively faster bloon speed, it let him achieve that round without mods.
