BTDB2
Half Super Monkey, half killer robot of death. Shoots from 2 guns at once!
~ BTDB2 description
Isab crit!

Crit!

Robo Monkey is the 3rd upgrade on Path 2 of the Super Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. Despite its description, it works very similarly to BTD6 counterpart, including the random crits, but without the Alternate Arm targeting option.

Upgrading to Robo Monkey grants the Super Monkey with a pair of independently shooting guns from each arm, with each dart dealing increased pierce (7 instead of 4). In addition, every 15 shots, it deals small crits that deal 10 damage instead of 1, functioning very similarly to Sharp Shooter without per-shot deviation. Unlike BTD5, it cannot naturally pop Frozen or Lead unless Path 1 upgrades are bought.

It costs $10,000, and is available after the unlocking Super Monkey.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Robo Monkey offers high DPS for a moderate price, as well as high range and pierce. It also has the option to either go the Plasma path or the Ultravision path for their respective expertises.

Tips[]

  • 2-3-0 Robo Monkey is generally better, because of its increased pierce and double attack speed. However, 0-3-2 may be useful in niche situations, because of its camo and knockback.

We have made significant adjustments to a lot of Super Monkey’s upgrades, as we feel like Super Monkey is not and has never been properly balanced for this game. While its main strength is its late game and we want to keep it that way, we do not think it should be to the extent where it has almost no use in the early/mid game. Therefore, we are making some pretty big price cuts to the early tiers, while adjusting the tier 3s to balance out these price cuts so that they don’t become too strong. A lot of the higher tiers have either been too expensive or too inefficient to have any practical use in ranked matches, and we want to change that. [...]

3.3.2
  • BUFF Robo Monkey: always crits every 15 shots rather than randomly between 15 and 20
We’ve removed the minimal RNG from Robo Monkey while slightly buffing it at the same time, as it’s not seen as a particularly great upgrade. [...]

Trivia[]

  • Robo Monkey also appears on the Season 2 profile picture "Uphold The Law".
  • Robo Monkey is the second tower to lose its random per-shot deviation in its crits. First is Sharp Shooter and Crossbow Master.
