A small tanking of bloons for preserving No Lives Lost and to emergency pop Leads or other small chunks of pesky bloons. These are fairly cheap but provide some benefit to popping stray bloons.
Tips[]
Pre-Game Prep Monkey Knowledge can allow automatically adds these spikes in map exits of the track. If the map has multiple exits, it also has multiple road spikes.
Just One More Monkey Knowledge can increase the amount of spikes per spike pile of Road Spikes.
Contested Territory Tips[]
The Relic Knowledge from Contested Territory grants the player 10 uses of Road Spikes, which while on their own are weak, the sheer quantity of them open up many possibilities with them, most importantly on Least Cash and Least Tiers tiles.
Combined with Rounding Up or Starting Stash, using all 10 stacks of Road Spikes at the start of the game lets you place a Heli Pilot without placing any other towers.
Road Spikes can be used to compensate for early game tower weaknesses before upgrading to a tower that overcomes that weakness. Some instances where this may apply are towers that cannot pop Lead Bloons, or the Wizard Monkey's inability of popping Purple Bloons before upgrading to Necromancer: Unpopped Army.
Road Spikes can also be used to clean up any stray bloons before they leak.
In Boss, Road Spikes are helpful for picking out stray bloons to avoid or reduce letting the penalty timer run.

In BTD6, the Road Spikes power costs Monkey Money instead of costing in-game money. This is unlike in earlier games.
