“ | Boomerangs can pop Frozen and Lead Bloons and do more damage to all. | ” |
~ BTDB2 description |
Red Hot Rangs is the 2nd upgrade on Path 3 of the Boomerang Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. Just like its BTD6 counterpart, it allows popping of Frozen and Lead in addition to +1 damage. However, it also deals an extra +1 damage to Leads (including DDTs), and if crosspathed with Glaive Lord its orbital glaives increase deals +5 damage to Lead properties. Range is 49.5.
Strategy[]
Summary[]
A nice increase in damage alongside popping of all visible bloon types. It is best used for skipping an extra bloon layer per shot. It is also very good in combination as a crosspath, such as 3-0-2 Glaive Ricochet, 4-0-2 M.O.A.R. Glaives, 5-0-2 Glaive Lord, and 0-4-2 Turbo Charge.
Tips[]
- Try to use this upgrade when countering multi-layered bloons. For just Grouped Bloons, the Path 1 upgrades is the way to go.
- 1-0-2 is pretty cost-efficient as a piercing-and-damaging crosspath, and 2-0-2 for even more pierce where needed.

Trivia[]
- Red Hot Rangs in BTDB2 offers more than lead-popping and +1 damage, unlike BTDB2 Hot Shots Tack which uses the BTD6 original concept that does exactly just lead-popping and +1 damage.
