Just for fun, there are some of each colour bloon in the next level. Enjoy popping those easy reds for a change.
~ Round 38 in Bloons TD 1

The Red Bloon is a Bloon that has appeared in every Bloons game to date. Red Bloons are recognized as the most common Bloons and the easiest to pop, taking only a single hit from any damaging weapon to do so. The Red Bloon spawns from a Blue Bloon. In BTD and BMC series, the Red Bloon is the 7th slowest Bloon in the games (after BAD, BTI, Vortex: Deadly Master of Air, Dreadbloon: Armored Behemoth, ZOMG and BFB); Lead Bloons and MOABs are equal to it in speed. Red Bloons will eventually, through layering, spawn from all Bloons. Popping a Red Bloon rewards 1 Money and 1XP (in BTD4 and BTD5).

The Red Bloon appears in the first round of every BTD game since games start off relatively easy, then get more difficult later on with higher ranked Bloons. In BMC, there are numerous occasions where there aren't just Red Bloons on the first round (there can be Zebra Bloons or even MOABs). Also, playing Hard Difficulty on a player-made track in the BTD4 Track Editor may give Blue Bloons in the place of Red. Certain Daily Challenges or Special Missions in BTD5 might be exceptions, too. BTD6 also has ABR Round 1, which only has Blue Bloons spawning from the entrance, and doesn't directly spawn Red Bloons until the Blue Bloons are damaged. Regardless, the Red Bloon is always present in every round, as it is part of the descending line of parent bloons, the measly Red Bloon being the last child of the main types of bloons.

Details[]

The Red Bloon is the basic enemy of the Bloons TD series. It is the weakest bloon in the whole game, with exactly 1 HP, so any hit that damages a bloon will completely destroy it. Unlike enemies in other tower defense games, most bloons go by a multi-layer health system. Every higher bloon than Red will eventually spawn Reds as the lowest descendant. For instance, the Blue Bloon is the second-weakest bloon in the game and will spawn one Red Bloon if exactly one damage was inflicted on the Blue Bloon, or fully popped if more than two damage was inflicted on the same shot. If a Red Bloon reaches the exit, 1 life will be lost.

The Red Bloon has remained the staple weakest enemy throughout the series, often used as the basis for bloon-related calculations. The length of a track is determined by Red Bloon Seconds (RBS), which is how long a Red Bloon takes to get to the end of the track on Medium Difficulty. Similarly, the number of "pops", relative to the Red Bloon taking 1 pop, that must take place for all Bloons in the round to be completely popped, is called the Red Bloon Equivalent.

Bloons TD Battles 2[]

Red Bloons can be sent starting from Round 1. Grouped Reds cost $20 and give the baseline 1.0 eco per slot, each slot sending 8 densely packed Reds. Like in Battles 1, there is no Spaced Reds option. The send disappears entirely on Round 12, where it is replaced with Rainbows.

Natural Reds start appearing on Round 1.

Red Bloons move at a base speed of 25, equal to 1 RBS.

Bloons Pop![]

A regular red Bloon
~ Short description

The Red Bloon appears in Bloons Pop! as one of the three basic enemies alongside the Blue Bloon and Green Bloon. Most shots that are affected by collision and gravity physics can bounce off of this bloon with moderate strength, as with other bloons.

Trivia[]

TheGameIsSpawningRegrowReds

Regrow reds being spawned naturally

  • Power Blops in Bloons Super Monkey and Bloons Super Monkey 2 only come from Red Bloons.
  • Except for being bigger and differently shaped, Regenerating Red Bloons are the same as Red Bloons, as long as they initially spawned as one. They cannot regrow when they get popped, so the Regrow ability is basically useless to them.
  • The Red Bloon is actually one of the rarest Bloons to come from the start of the map, as it only appears near the start of the game, besides Rounds 27 and 50.
  • Red Bloons are one of the only Bloons that have no "spaced" form in Bloons TD Battles. Spaced greens and yellows exist within Card Battles.
  • In the Bloons TD 5 Mobile's official trailer, Red Bloons look orange instead of red.
  • In BTD1, three Red Bloons are on the screen before playing. They can also be popped, but they respawn. Also, popping them does not affect the further game in any way.
  • In BTD4, all Bloons that come from the entrance have 5 spacing (two spawns every second). Due to this, Red Bloons appear on Rounds 53, 67, 68, 72, 73 and even 75, the last round, as "placeholders" in between M.O.A.B. Class Bloons. In BTD5, bloons can appear at any spacing e.g., 63 has Ceramics with 0 spacing; 86+ can have Z.O.M.G.s with 30 spacing (one every three seconds).
  • In BTD5, in a regular game, Camo and Regen Red Bloons will not spawn. However, in Sandbox Mode, some Special Missions, Bloons Monkey City, and Daily Challenges with Bloon Rank changes, they might spawn. In BTD6, 20 Camo Reds appear on Round 33.
  • In Bloons Monkey City, Red Bloon is a valid max bloon type.
  • Since around 2016 or so, the Camo Regrow Red has frequently been memed as the "strongest bloon" in the game, despite the fact that they are in actual fact no stronger than a Camo Red and have a somewhat larger hitbox than a Camo Red.
    • In Bloons TD 6, a Camo Regrow Red appears in Round 5 of Alternate Bloons Rounds, which is a shoutout to a meme spawned in 2017 where the Camo Regrow Red was regarded to be an "extremely powerful" bloon.
