Bloons Pop!

Quests in version 36.0

Quests are a feature added in update 36.0 for Bloons TD 6, which were released in conjunction with the new map Polyphemus, and the new tower, the Beast Handler. Quests give the player an opportunity to go on adventures for extra rewards, which currently include powers, Monkey Money, and the new tower itself. Patch runs all of the quests, accompanying the journeys throughout each quest. Despite its name, BTD6 Quests resemble Special Missions from BTD5.

There are currently 30 quests in the game. Each Quest requires a certain level. The minimum level requirement to unlock a quest is at Level 10, while the quest with the currently highest minimum level requirement is Level 60.

There are four types of Quests: Tales, Challenges, Tutorials, and Experiments.

Tales

Tales (also called Story Quests) are multi-part quests with more story elements. They are always listed at the top of the quests menu.

Epic Beast Quest

• Complete three subquests consisting of challenges that limit Beast Handlers to each specific crosspath combination, up to Tier 2.

Epic Beast Quest is a multi-part quest involving a tutorial for how to use the Beast Handler. Players will be instructed about many of the fundamental aspects of Beast Handlers that make them so unique compared to most tower types, including the Merge system. It is unlocked at Level 40.

New Dart Just Dropped

• Complete two subquests consisting of challenges involving two Dartling Gunners with a Glue Gunner.

New Dart Just Dropped is a multi-part quest involving gaining $100,000 with two Dartling Gunners and a Glue Gunner, as well as testing out bouncing darts. It is unlocked at level 45.

Scoop's Tall Tale

Scoop's Tall Tale is a multi-part quest involving micromanaging a Dart Monkey, Engineer Monkey, and Alchemist with Support Chinooks. It is unlocked at level 60.

A Slimey Expedition

• Complete three subquests consisting of challenges involving land-consuming slime that must be removed with in-game cash to succeed. The final subquest additionally fights against Bloonarius the Inflator.

A Slimey Expedition is a multi-part quest involving gigantic blobs of slime dropping on the ground, obscuring the terrain and triggering distress among the Monkeys. Dr. Monkey investigates the origin of the slime, slowly pinning it down to Bloonarius, who lives in its dirty eponymous swamp. It is unlocked at level 50.

A Strange Bloonomaly

• Complete three subquests to investigate bloon abnormalies where bloons look glitched out and will act jumpily in a similar fashion as Phayze. The final subquest in Midnight Mansion has Reverse Mode enabled.

A paranormal themed challenge inspired by the boss bloon Phayze.

Super Dartling Bros

Super Dartling Bros is a quest where the player must beat slightly modified Park Path using only Dartling Gunners.

Mermonkeys, No Mere Monkeys

Keep Up With Biker Bones!

• Beat all the rounds before the timer runs out.

In this quest, the player must beat a score on a Race Event style of gameplay. The player is tasked to beat Biker Bones' "record time" with the help of Etienne. Biker Bones' default "record time" is set at 06:23.55. It unlocks at Level 20.

Bloons TD 6 Birthday Party

• Rewards: 500, 5th Anniversary Profile Banner
• Destroy the Party Bloon at least 10 times.

The Monkeys have declared a party at a modified version of Quad, with every base hero (Quincy, Gwendolin, Striker Jones, and Obyn Greenfoot) invited. As the Monkeys just want some joyous fun celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Bloons TD 6, the Monkeys have also invited the Bloons to join in the party; the Bloons will not lose lives if leaked. However, upon reaching Round 38, Scoop has noted that a Party Bloon has entered the party. To impress Scoop, and therefore win the quest, the player must pop the Party Bloon at least 10 times.

Note: Profile Banner can be redeemed only during birthday event.

Grow Less Than Galaxili!

• Beat Rounds 1-80 with less than 80 tiers (Least Tiers rules) using a variety of towers that lack reliable globally ranged offense.

In this quest, Patch tells the player to challenge Galaxili to a Least Tiers challenge, with the help of Obyn Greenfoot, beating Rounds 1-80 on Geared with several restrictions to available towers. If the player manages to beat the challenge, Patch will become impressed.

Patch's Cheap CHIMPS Challenge

• Beat Logs on Medium Difficulty C.H.I.M.P.S. using $80,000 or less.

In this challenge, the player must beat C.H.I.M.P.S. on Medium Difficulty on the map Logs with a Least Cash criteria, set at Patch's best score; 80000

In this quest, Patch tells the player to challenge her to a Least Cost CHIMPS challenge on Medium Difficulty. The player must beat all rounds from Round 6-100 using any valid combination of towers by spending no more than $80,000.

Protect the Yacht

In this challenge, the player must beat Protect the Yacht on Medium Difficulty. The player must beat all rounds from Round 50-90 with $15,000 and pre-placed 3-0-0 Dart and 3-0-0 Boomerang Monkeys.

Tutorials

Quincy, Student of Quincy

A tutorial of Quincy and his abilities, plus a number of custom rounds to help introduce some of his strengths. After successfully beating a few rounds, the player is told to place more towers.

Trial by Fire

A tutorial of Gwendolin and her abilities, plus a number of custom rounds to help introduce some of her strengths. Some towers become available in this quest upon beating a few rounds, plus introduction of her specific synergies.

Blade Sauda Nowhere

Striken BAD

Main article: Striken BAD

• In combination with a pre-determined defense, use the First Strike Capability's ability missile to injure a BAD, and then time the First Strike Capability’s ability missile to one-shot the critically damaged BAD.

Patch tells the player about the prime role of First Strike Capability as a method of eliminating the BAD on Round 100. In combination with a pre-determined defense, the player must complete Round 100 by properly managing the First Strike Capability.

Experiments

Introduced in version 40.0 alongside Corvus and Glacial Trail, these missions have special conditions that needs to be taken into account in order to clear it.

MOAB Madness

• Start with 50,000 cash and defeat 5 rounds, stacked with MOAB-Class Bloons. Be prepared for a lot of Bloons. Are you up to the task?

Similar to the mission from Bloons TD 5 and Bloons TD 4's "Pool Table" mission, this mission requires the player to survive 5 rounds of MOAB class bloons of increasing difficulty.

Fast Upgrades

Main article: Fast Upgrades (BTD6)

• A remake of the Bloons TD 5 Special Mission. At the end of each round, all towers are upgraded once for free! The middle path will be chosen for base towers, or the next upgrade in the path with the highest upgrade.

Just like BTD5's Fast Upgrades, at the end of each round, each tower will get one upgrade on the highest path defaulting to Path 2 if all 3 paths are equal, or defaulting to Path 1 if crosspathed with Paths 1 and 3. This mission consists of 6 custom rounds.

Intense Bloon Rounds

• Build your defenses and survive the crucible of intense Bloon Rounds with a BAD on round 30.
• Pick your Hero before jumping in.
• NOTE: High level Monkey Knowledge recommended.

In this mission, the player will have to survive 30 custom rounds of tightly packed groups of bloons, fighting a BAD on round 30.

Phayze One

“	Defeat Phayze, defeat Phayze, defeat Phayze.	”

• Requirements: Level ???
• Rewards: 500
• Monkey Knowledge enabled: No
• Defeat Phayze on Sulfur Springs. As many times as you can.

In this mission, the player must defeat Phayze as many times as possible. Phayze has its usual raw properties with the shield active. Phayze will not warp extra distances but will still push the spawning point of naturally occurring bloons forwards along the track, and can still steal camo buffs. Beating Phayze will give a giant sum of extra cash. Keep beating Phayze at least 40 times to guarantee success, before Phayze exits Sulfur Springs.

Trivia

• In the CSV file for 36.0 descriptions, there is an unused dialogue that Patch would say about Race Mode: "In Race Mode the timer starts when you press play. Use the red Bloon-send button to send rounds early and improve your time. Good luck!". It is not added to the Biker Bones Quest for unknown reasons.
• In the birthday party quest, the party BAD's HP starts at 20000 and scales exponentially by a factor of 1.02 every time it is popped. 2% is the first stage of free play scaling, but free play's scaling is additive whereas party BAD's is multiplicative. So in the quest, the HP goes up way faster (although there's no ramping on speed).
• According to the "Striken BAD" quest, the description suggests that Ninja Kiwi deliberately used the spelling "striken". The correct spelling, outside of being a slang way to say "striking", would be "stricken".
• Version 41.0 is the only update without new quests. This is likely because of the fact that Version 41.0 is the first update of the year, in which the Ninja Kiwi Auckland team (which develop Bloons TD 6) took their Christmas 2023 break.
