Many BTD5 Mobile Heli Pilots set on Pursuit

Pursuit is a Targeting Priority appearing in Bloons TD 5, Bloons TD 6, and Bloons Adventure Time TD. It allows self-mobile flying towers like Heli Pilot to always fly towards the bloon furthest down the track. It is their close equivalent to First.

The Heli Pilot must buy an upgrade, also called "Pursuit", in both BTD5 and in BTD6 to gain access to this priority. On the other hand, Bloons Adventure Time TD's self-mobile towers, namely Marceline, Ghost Princess, Tiny Manticore, and Martian Transport, do not need upgrades to use Pursuit.

In BTD5, Pursuit Helis will go anywhere near the first bloon, while in BTD6 the algorithm for Pursuit Helis has been improved to go directly ahead of their path direction. BTD6 Razor Rotors has received a rework in Version 31.0 that specifically optimizes its rotor, setting it much closer to its target.

Summary[]

At the cost of some damage efficiency, due to the rotor attack not properly being utilized and pierce not being fully utilized, Pursuit allows the player to have less things to worry about like microing the Heli Pilot while managing other things in the defense, like farms and abilities. This also has synergizes with Special Poperations in BTD6 as this nearly guarantees the marine will be placed at point of action without forcing the player to do it itself.

Tips[]

  • For Heli Pilots, the Pursuit targeting option requires a cost to buy the upgrade itself.
