Ricocheting ballista battles 2 — Primary Expertise with ricocheting ballista

Primary Expertise is the 5th upgrade on Path 1 of the Monkey Village in Bloons TD Battles 2. The Village gains further buffs to Primary and Pat Fusty, increases influence range from 48 to 55, and gains a ricocheting ballista attack.

It gives +40% pierce with a minimum of +3 pierce, -20% ability cooldowns, +10% range, +5 range, and +25% projectile speed as all of the buffs to Primary and Pat Fusty. Primary Monkeys get free Tier 1 and 2 upgrades, while Pat Fusty gains 80% more XP while in the village's range.

It also hurls ballistas every 2.5s that pop up to 100 bloons but consume 10 pierce on MOAB-class, and inflict 10 damage to all bloon types with an extra +240 versus Ceramics and MOAB-class. Ballistas can ricochet up to 90 units between each target.

It costs $25,000, and is unlocked with a one-off purchase of 1500 to unlock all Tier 5 Monkey Village upgrades.

Summary[]

Primary Expertise's buff makes it strong in conjunction with Primary Monkeys, but most especially Bomb Shooters due to how expensive its Tier 1 and 2 upgrades are and because of adding various buffs that cater well with strategies oriented around Striker Jones. It also pairs well with just about any Primary Monkey, with particular synergy with Glue Gunners and Tack Shooters.

Tips[]

Primary Expertise crosspathing depends on needs of the defense, although Radar Scanner is often the best choice due to the fact that most Primary Monkeys have a camo weakness, and also because Primary Expertise comes with extra range.

We have reworked it so that it now provides a percentage-based pierce buff instead, with the minimum pierce increase remaining at its old values so that low-pierce towers are not negatively impacted by this change. Primary Mentoring has been buffed because a 10% reduction to ability cooldowns was not significant enough, considering that primary towers’ abilities are more often than not sold after being activated.	”
