Plasma vaporizes everything it touches!.
~ Bloons Tower Defense 3 Description

Plasma Vision is the second upgrade for the bottom path of the Super Monkey in Bloons TD 3. The upgrade increases the pierce per projectile from 2 to 3, and increases the attack speed of the Super Monkey. The speed increase is double in Flash, but on iOS, it instead attacks 50% faster.

This upgrade costs $3,400 on Easy, $4,080 on Medium, and $4,320 on Hard.

Mechanics[]

Plasma Vision fires one projectile with 3 pierce as a Straight Attack Straight Attack; these projectiles are now normal type, allowing it to pop lead. Projectiles are now fired 2x as fast as Laser Vision on flash, or 1.5x on the iOS/handheld ports. More specifically, it is changed from every 2 frames (0.05s) to every 1 frames (0.025s) on flash. On the iOS/handheld versions, attack cooldown instead decreases from 0.5s to every 0.0333s. Jungle Drums cannot boost its attack speed due to Plasma Vision already attacking at the speed cap.

Targeting Priorities[]

Plasma Vision uses the standard target priorities in BTD3: First and Last. In BTD iOS, Near and Far are also targeting options.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

As the strongest upgrade in BTD3, it is able to decimate bloons, should the player be able to afford this. Like all Super Monkey upgrades, it is not the most cost efficient upgrade, and is primarily for freeplay.

Tips[]

  • Plasma Vision Supers are the strongest lategame tower in Bloons TD 3. Thus, any freeplay run should rely on them.
  • Plasma Visions are useful to clean up stray bloons from a long distance, due to their high range of 240 when also upgraded with Epic Range.
