Plasma Monkey Fan Club is the 5th upgrade of Path 2 the Dart Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is somewhat improved compared to its BTD6 counterpart; converted Plasma Monkeys attack faster, every 0.025s, and fans have 50 base range. Also, the leader of the Plasma Monkey Fan Club deals 6 damage, 7 with its ability activated.

Its activated ability transforms up to 20 of the nearest Dart Monkeys into rapidly firing Plasma Blast Super Monkeys for 12 seconds with a cooldown of 50 seconds, however if the affected Dart Monkeys has enough uptime, it can transform up to an infinite number of dart monkeys. During the ability, transformed Dart Monkeys have 50 range and attack every 0.025 seconds with a 2 damage and 5 pierce plasma blast projectile that has a reduced lifespan compared to true Plasma Blasts. The base tower retains the same attack statistics as the Super Monkey Fan Club. Transformed Dart Monkeys will inherit most crosspaths and buffs.

It costs $45,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Dart Monkey upgrades for 1500.

Since the upgrade got buffed to attack a tad bit faster than its BTD6 counterpart, Plasma Monkey Fan Club is a strong choice for its cost against both BAD and DDT rushes, although a considerable support is required to make the most of the ability. It pairs particularly well with debuffs (e.g. Embrittlement, Super Brittle) and Village supports (especially Primary Expertise and Homeland Defense).

Tips[]

Choose the 0-5-2 crosspath for innate camo detection, or choose 2-5-0 if there is already a camo option. This only affects the leader of the Plasma Monkey Fan Club, though its individual fellow monkeys need their own special crosspaths.
Setting some Dart Monkeys on Strong and First may help co-operate the Plasma Monkey Fan Club to target a mixture of strong and weak targets, for a more balanced DPS utilization.
