Plasma Accelerator is the 4th upgrade of Path 1 for the Dartling Gunner in Bloons TD Battles 2. Like its its BTD6 counterpart, it produces a focused laserbeam. However, cost of the upgrade itself is slightly increased while its previous upgrade costs decreased.
Instead of launching individual projectiles, it now fires a concentrated beam of plasma energy at wherever the cursor is located or the player last tapped. Bloons that cross the beam itself take damage, while the endpoint of the beam deals extra damage to Bloons. The endpoint pierces more if the whole laserbeam has remaining pierce. Plasma Accelerator gains the plasma damage type, so it can now pop Lead Bloons, but still does not pop Purple Bloons. Plasma beam is a laserbeam 2 units wide, focal point is a radial AoE of 4 units radius, the dimensions increased by +50% with 4-0-2.
The laser beam itself deals 1 damage every 0.20s contact and up to 40 pierce (70 pierce with 4-0-2). At the end point of the beam, it deals 2 damage every 0.20s contact, +10 versus MOAB-class. Any leftover pierce from the beam is transferred into the endpoint to produce endpoint damage. The endpoint will only activate if the laserbeam has not reached its pierce limit, not hit any Purple Bloons, or does not hit an obstacle. An active endpoint is indicated by visible bubbling yellow plasma at the very end of the beam. The endpoint extends to the maximum distance that the beam can travel, and thus the beam will only go as far as the Dartling is aiming.
In addition, the Laser Shock effect lasts for 5 seconds instead of 2 from Laser Cannon. Both the laser beam itself and the end point can apply the Laser Shock effect.
It costs $12,000, and is unlocked with the purchase of Dartling Gunner.

Tips[]
- 4-2-0 Accelerator is almost always better than 4-0-2, as the faster attack speed allows faster refreshment of the beam, rather than a small pierce bonus. Plus, 4-2-0 pops camo.
- Situationally, 4-0-2 is better at general cleanup of non-Camo rushes.
- Plasma Accelerator can be used to defend against ZOMGs and its innards during Round 22 rushes, dealing a lot of single-target and grouped damage.
- Plasma Accelerator can be used to defend against BADs and its innards during the late 30s, dealing lots of damage combined together.
