Pinned is a status effect characterized by the application of nails onto the bloons to stop them in place. It is part of the damage types family. It has appeared since Bloons TD 6 with the introduction of the Pin upgrade for the Engineer Monkey.
Pinned is represented on Bloons Wiki as , the upgrade icon for Pin in Bloons TD 6, which appears to be bloon penetrated by the force of a nail. The effect of bloons affected by Pinned status effect is highly visible; affected bloons will feature a group of nails stuck all over them. Provided that the original tower that did the hit damages the bloon, the bloon will receive the Pinned status effect.
Bloons affected by Pin are stuck in place. Pin can also penetrate up to 1 layer after popping the bloon, excluding damage buffs such as Benjamin's Biohack. It is different from Freeze because Pin can be pop by any damage types.
Pinned bloons are technically “stunned” according to Extra Damage to Stunned ; pinned Bloons can be dealt extra stun damage via upgrades such as Heavy Shells.
The only upgrades to have the Pinned status effect are Pin and its upgrades, alongside any sentries with at least Sprockets.
Master Builder can do stronger Pinned effect, can apply pinned status on Leads and Ceramics and stun MOAB-Class Bloons for a short time. However, the stun on MOAB-class bloons is considered Stun MOAB instead.
