Pat is a huge monkey of enormous strength. His unique size and power is a great asset in the war on Bloons.
~ In-game description

Pat Fusty is a hero in Bloons TD 6 who was added in the game in the 9.0 update. He is a gigantic monkey who uses slam attacks to crush Bloons. At level 1, his slams each hit a single bloon and create a blast that hits up to 10 other bloons nearby, dealing 3 damage to the first target and 2 damage to other targets, plus even more damage to Ceramics. These attacks can naturally pop Lead Bloons, but cannot pop Camo Bloons without support. He can be placed in water or land. Pat can be unlocked for BloonjaminsIcon3000.

He costs $680 on Easy, $800 on Medium, $865 on Hard, and $960 on Impoppable. If Hero Favors is enabled, he will cost $610 on Easy, $720 on Medium, $780 on Hard, and $865 on Impoppable.

Pat Fusty will start upgrading himself every round upon placement. He earns more XP each round to unlock his next upgrade irrespective of how many bloons he pops. His upgrades can also be immediately bought with cash, though the amount of cash required to purchase the next upgrade will typically increase as the upgrades get higher, making self-upgrading an important element for his overall power.

Just like Ezili, Sauda and Admiral Brickell, Pat Fusty requires 1.425x as much experience points to upgrade towards each level compared to Quincy, Gwendolin, Striker Jones, or Obyn Greenfoot.

Pat Fusty has two abilities, both of which are gained via upgrades: Rallying Roar (Level 3+), and Big Squeeze (Level 10+).

Rallying Roar Ability[]

Rallying Roar Ability

When activated, all nearby towers within 30 radius can deal +1 damage for 8 seconds, with a cooldown of 45 seconds. At Level 14+, duration increases to 10 seconds, damage bonus increased to +3, and radius increased to 40.

Big Squeeze Ability[]

Big Squeeze Ability

When activated, Pat Fusty grabs the strongest blimp within his range, squeezing it and crushing it for 4 seconds, destroying the outer layer and stunning the insides for 2 seconds. He can target a MOAB, BFB, ZOMG, Dreadrock Bloon, or DDT (if visible) and crushes it. However, he cannot attack for 5 seconds after activating this ability. At Level 20, he can target up to 4 blimps at a time. Cooldown of 20 seconds.

Pat Fusty is one of the strongest heroes in the game, mainly because of both his Rallying Roar and his stuns and knockback. This allows him to be one of the many heroes who are frequently used in many difficult Advanced Maps and even True Experts such as #Ouch.

Pat has one of the most notable abilities in the game, Rallying Roar which allows him to combine in tandem with low-damage towers. Some of the most notable are Sun Avatar and Grandmaster Ninja, where they have featured with Pat on #ouch CHIMPS as premier strategies. Pairing Pat with The Tack Zone or Super Maelstrom has been used to achieve relatively cheap CHIMPS clears. Pairing with 1-4-0 or 2-4-0 Spike Storms are also a viable option to pair for beating a few select rounds, or when remaining income is limited.

It is important to mention that Pat Fusty's abilities require careful timing especially if the map or mode is harder. His Level 10 ability is useful for certain towers that struggle with lone single target rounds such as Round 60, 80, 85, 87, 97 and sometimes 100.

For boss events, Pat Fusty is one of the better heroes to select if Benjamin and Geraldo are banned, because of his roar being a significant buff to Overdrives and other high projectile towers early on. This is especially notable if Embrittlement or Glue Strike are also banned.

Pat Fusty has more use than just his Rallying Roar alone, because in later levels he can regularly knock back MOABs and stun bloons, starting from Level 5 and 6, respectively, including stunning MOAB-class from Level 13 onwards. Pairing him with Overclock can significantly increase his stalling power. Because of this, he can stall bloons that are in range of him.

  • Try placing Pat Fusty in a spot where there is enough space for him to reach the track while simultaneously optimizing the amount of space around him to place as many towers within his low range.
  • Pat Fusty's knockback power from Level 5+ onwards and stun effects from Level 6+ onwards can be of great support, especially from Level 13+ where he can stun blimps too.
  • Uptime for Pat Fusty's Rallying Roar at Level 3-13 is ~17.78%. The total uptime for Pat Fusty's Rallying Roar at Level 14+ is increased to ~22.22%.
  • With proper support and stalling to stack bloons on top of each other, using Rallying Roar with an overclocked Super Maelstrom will obliterate a large portion of Round 98 in one go. Pat and Super Maelstrom is often considered to be stronger than Pat with Tack Zone after the Tack Zone's nerfs which made it less effective with damage buffs and its loss of lead-popping power.
  • Pat Fusty receives the cooldown reduction from Bloontonium Reactor/Energizer even if hes not placed in water.
  • Pat's Big Squeeze can crush Rock Bloons, although it is not recommended to select Pat Fusty solely for this purpose.

Version History[]

Balance Changes[]

Overall, his Rallying Roar was slightly nerfed since Pat Fusty was first released. His main attacks, however, were overall buffed. He remains useful in combination with high-projectile tower strategies, most especially with Tack Zone to which it works the best with for multiple reasons.

  • Released
  • Change New Big Bloon Option can be unlocked after winning 10 games with Pat Fusty
  • Change Bloons caught by Big Squeeze are now larger
  • Change Fusty the Snowman skin added.
  • BUFF Pat Fusty Level 1 main hit damage increased 2 → 3
  • BUFF Pat Fusty Level 1 AoE hit damage increased 1 → 2
  • BUFF Pat Fusty Level 11 main hit damage increased 4 → 5
  • BUFF Level 7 now increases base attack damage from 3 to 4
  • BUFF Level 7 now increases base splash damage from 2 to 3
  • NERF Level 14 Rallying Roar no longer provides +3 bonus to Ceramic & MOABs
  • BUFF Level 14 Rallying Roar damage bonus buff increased from 1 to 3
  • BUFF Level 16 Base Ceramic damage bonus increased from 2 to 7
  • BUFF Level 10 ability no longer consumes Overclock duration
  • NERF Level 3-13 Rallying Roar buff duration reduced (7s → 5s)
  • NERF Level 14+ Rallying Roar buff duration reduced (12s → 10s)
  • NERF Level 3+ Rallying Roar cooldown increased (40s → 45s)
We feel that applying the entire recent Roar nerf right away from level 3 was a mistake. To alleviate the impact here we have increased the level 3 duration to a little more than it was
  • BUFF Pat Fusty Level 3-13 Rallying Roar duration increased (5s → 8s). Level 14+ duration remains the same.
  • Change Level 3 Description changed from "Rallying Roar: All nearby Monkeys can pop +1 layer. Lasts 5 seconds." to "Rallying Roar: All nearby Monkeys can pop +1 layer for a short time."
  • BUFF [Undocumented, bug] Rallying Roar now grants towers with normal type damage temporarily
  • NERF Patched the above bug.
  • BUFF Level 13+ Pat Fusty should now correctly increase stun duration
Pat Fusty was initially given a smaller footprint than it felt he should have due to concerns about balance with his small radius, but actually has been extremely powerful for a long time despite these radius issues. We feel like now giving him back the footprint size that he always should have had similar to Churchill will add a reasonable lategame downside to consider without harming his early use so badly.
~ Ninja Kiwi
  • NERF Pat Fusty's footprint increased (7 → 8)
Since his addition to the game Pat Fusty has been a very strong top tier hero between his powerful roar buff and ability to stall large groups of strong targets for a long time. This feels slightly out of hand (couldn’t resist), so we’re taking his slap attack’s pierce down at all levels to reduce this stalling potential without changing the buff.
~ Ninja Kiwi
  • NERF Pat Fusty Level 5-14 Slap knockback pierce reduced 10 → 8
  • NERF Pat Fusty Level 15+ Slap knockback pierce reduced 20 → 16
  • BUFF Rallying Roar's influence range is now visible when placing towers near Pat Fusty.
While we like giving players lots to choose from as early as possible, we’ve seen feedback that the current hero unlock flow can feel overwhelming with all Monkey Money unlockable heroes becoming available immediately at account level 10. To address this, we are spacing this period out with a few different groupings of Hero unlocks and holding back some of the more complex Heroes until account level 35.
~ Ninja Kiwi, Version 42.0 preview notes
  • NERF Pat Fusty now unlocks at Level 15 instead of Level 10

Bug Fixes and General Changes[]

  • Level 2's description removed the redundant "Pat's" of the sentence.
  • BUFF Placing towers in Pat’s radius will now show a grayed out Rallying Roar buff icon

Pat Fusty has different cosmetics that can be bought to add visual flair to him. These are purely visual and do not influence how he performs in-game. Hero Skins for Pat Fusty are available once he is unlocked.

Pat Fusty has additional skins that can be bought for a one-off purchase of BloonjaminsIcon2500 each.

The first additional skin is Fusty the Snowman. He has a white body and a red face, and wears a top hat with a pink flower on it. This is a reference to the Christmas carol "Frosty the Snowman".

The second additional skin is Kaiju Pat. Taking inspiration from Godzilla, Kaiju Pat transforms Pat Fusty into a monster. At Level 20, he becomes a mecha, including a mechanized voice. [insert more info here]

  • Pat Fusty was named "Pat Futsy" in the in-game code prior to his official release.
  • “Stop that, I'm melting!” sounds like Planet Uranus saying “Stop That!” in various educational space videos by Toy Time Town.
  • Pat is the second tower in the main series that can be placed on both land and water, after the Tribal Turtle.
  • Pat is the first tower in the main series that uses melee attacks.
  • Pat is the first Hero in Bloons TD 6 to have a track named after him, that being Pat's Pond. The second hero to do so is Adora, with a track named after her called Adora's Temple.
  • Pat is the sixth tower, and second hero, to be able to reliably pop a Test Bloon single-handedly, an enemy only available in Sandbox Mode.
  • Pat Fusty has the third smallest range of any tower in Bloons TD 6, only having a larger range than the Ice Monkey and Tack Shooter.
  • Pat Fusty is the first Hero to receive an ability cooldown increase, from Version 19.0, and currently is the only one to receive an ability cooldown increase.
  • When placed in water, Pat can be buffed by the Energizer's 50% cooldown reduction for water towers. Stacking this with the Ability Mastery MK allows for full uptime of his Rallying Roar ability.
  • Pat's Big Squeeze ability highly resembles the Bloonchipper and its Super Wide Funnel upgrade.
  • If Pat Fusty grabs a decamoed DDT, the animation will still show a camoflagued DDT.
  • Bloons grabbed by Big Squeeze are counted as popped upon ability use, as Pat's pop count increases at this point. The ZOMG/BAD destruction sound will always play after Big Squeeze regardless of which bloons are squeezed.
  • Pat fusty is the only hero in btd6 capable of dealing normal type damage at level 1.

Balance changes[]

  • The ZOMG was originally the only bloon that showed significant pressure during Big Squeeze. This was fixed in Update 10.0, as all MOAB-Class Bloons now show pressure during Big Squeeze.
  • There was once a bug in Version 23.0 where Pat Fusty's Rallying Roar prioritized before Sub Commander buffs, allowing buffed Subs to apply double Pat Fusty's buff. This was since fixed in Version 23.2.
