Towers gain +66% attack speed when affected by Overclock. Villages also get +25% range under Overclock, while Farms receive +50% income (rather than +66% production in BTD6), rounded up. Also, Overclock can affect Monkey Wall Street's end-of-round cash but not IMF Loan or Monkey-Nomics abilities. Duration of the Overclock's buff dynamically changes if the target is upgraded while under its effects; Overclock lasts for 30s on T5, 45s on T4, 60s on T3, 75s on T2, 90s on T1, 105s on T0, but upgrading a tower's max tier reduces the duration by 15s. However, Overclock's buff can also affect sub-towers, including flying sub-towers (Comanche Defense, Etienne's drones, Aircraft Carrier's airplanes, Summon Phoenix etc.) and ground-dwelling subtowers (e.g. Sentry Champion's Champion Sentries, Special Poperations's Marine, etc.) Overclock will never be able to directly target sub-towers, as a countermeasure to unnecessary clutter.
It costs $13,500, and is unlocked with the purchase of Engineer Monkey.
Crosspathing rarely matters for Overclock in this game, as crosspathing makes little difference for this tower. 2-4-0 does produce Deconstruction Sentries identical to 2-2-0, though 0-4-2 utilizes the pinning effect much better.
Overclock has great synergy with Sentry Champion as it will boost it’s Sentry attack speed.
Overclocking farms is a great idea, especially the Monkey Wall Street and Banana Central since the +50% income boost scales very well with the already high income both of these upgrades provide. So much so that they will pay off the cost of the Overclock in about 2 rounds. Keep in mind that it will not increase the special income gained from the Monkey-Nomics as it is tied to an ability.
Adding to Monkey Wall Street gives an additional +$5,000 per round (or +$6,667 prior to Version 1.6.1). If the round ends while the Overclock effect is still active, expect a massive income gain.
Version History[]
Initial release (compared to BTD6 during Version 28.0)
Affected by Cleansing Foam buffs
Overclock no longer can target sub-towers (this also causes less clutter when picking a target)
Overclock makes Banana Farms's value increase by +66% rather than increase its production rate by 1.66x (this also affects Monkey Wall Street's end of round cash.)
Overclock boosts ultraboosted towers
1.3.0
Affected by Foam buffs
1.5.0
No longer requires 14,000 XP to unlock. Players who have unlocked this upgrade before the update will not receive a full refund.
Affected by Foam buffs
1.6.1
Overclock income bonus decreased (+66% -> +50%)
1.7.1
[bug fix] Overclock's buff duration on a target now changes if the target is upgraded to higher tiers.
4.0.2
Overclock will now also affect sub-towers (Heli’s mini comanches, Etienne’s drones, Carrier Buccaneer’s planes, Engineer’s Sentries, Wizard’s Phoenixes, True Sun God’s mini Sun Avatars)
“
This change makes sense for most child towers such as Etienne’s drones and Buccaneer’s planes, as without it they were unfairly unaffected by Overclock. This also offers a pretty decent buff to Engineer’s sentries, particularly 5xx, however we are keen to see how it goes since this isn’t a very strong upgrade at the moment.

4.1
[Bugfix] Fixed Overclock boost not affecting sub-towers spawned after the boost was applied
Overclock boost no longer increases 1+-x-x Engineer's sentry spawn rate
“
Recently, we altered Overclock so that buffing a parent tower will also buff all of its child towers (eg sentries). Additionally, in this update we’re fixing a bug with this, meaning that newly spawned child towers will now correctly inherit the buff. With these changes, it makes Sentry Champion incredibly strong but only when buffed up a lot by the likes of Homeland Defense and Overclock. [,,,]
