Monkey Teams

Monkey Teams encourages players to utilize the three allocated tower types and let them cooperate to form an outstanding defense. Accomplishing it rewards a chunk of extra Monkey Money, making it an effective way to gather a minor Monkey Money bonus while exploring many new combinations of towers and their synergies.

This page shows strategies for specific team combos, as well as general tips, all for the completion of Monkey Teams efficiently.

General Strategy[]

Analyze the list of towers, and wisely choose the appropriate map difficulty for the given three-tower team and the allocated maps. Choose a hero that covers the weaknesses of the team, like unaffordable early camo detection or lack of lead popping power.

Towers[]

The core of Monkey Teams is the three-tower teams. There are advantages and disadvantages of each tower, and this section will help how to utilize them optimally on the right game modes with such a limited choice of towers.

Very few tower types produce income, limited to the following:

Of all tower types, the following have reliable camo detection and/or camo countermeasures:

Heroes[]

Heroes offer super valuable roles at supporting a defense with their own special utility through their self-leveling upgrades. Choose the right hero to minimize the disadvantages of the three-tower loadout. Selecting the best hero is most important on harder maps and difficulties.

Hero Strategy
QuincyPortrait
Quincy
  • Quincy is the most basic of the heroes, having a ricocheting arrow attack that is quite accurate at bouncing towards nearby bloons. He is the cheapest to purchase, has a fast leveling rate, and good range, making him excel in the early-game on a variety of maps. His late-game tends to fall off, however, and has no natural counter to DDTs.
  • Quincy can level fast enough on all maps to access his camo detection upgrade by Round 24 if he is placed down as soon as possible.

Captain Churchill
  • A powerful pure DPS choice, which helps on three-tower combos with very low pure offensive but high support (e.g. Alch-Farm-Village).
BenjaminPortrait
Benjamin
  • He generates money each round, in addition to making Round 40 easier to deal with by his Trojan.

AdmiralBrickellPortrait
Admiral Brickell
  • For water-dominant maps and for teams that feature any water tower, Brickell is a great option for buffing water towers, alongside some decent damage from her own attacks.
EtiennePortrait
Etienne
  • Etienne has a rather weak early-game, but possesses some powerful supports that help across a wide range, ignore Line of Sight, and grant global camo detection.
  • His Level 8 upgrade is a vital asset for tower combos that have very weak or no camo detection. On most maps where he can actually cover range of all lanes, he can hold off Camo Bloons prior to naturally getting that important Level 8 upgrade, assuming he is placed as soon as possible.
SaudaPortrait
Sauda
  • Sauda's cheap cost and hands-off damage makes her optimal for most Beginner and Intermediate Maps, and excels on those maps in these cases.
PsiPortrait
Psi
  • Psi helps minimize RBE with their vibrational instakills, making them useful on harder maps and difficulties where they can maximize its leveling rate so they will scale fast enough to excel in the late-game.
GeraldoPortrait
Geraldo
  • Geraldo has a variety of items that help simplify multiple stages of the game, whether for early-game, mid-game, or late-game. Most of his items except Paragon Power Totems help throughout almost any stage of the game necessary for Monkey Teams.
  • He has both income generation in the form of his Rare Quincy Action Figure and Fertilizer (requires Farm), and camo detection in the form of his See Invisibility Potion.
  • Unless Super and Dart are both in the team, Worn Hero's Cape is useless in Monkey Teams.
