The super monkey storm beacon on the track. (Circled)
Monkey Storm is the final upgrade of the Monkey Beacon in Bloons TD 4. Like the Monkey Storm Beacon in BTD3, the Monkey Storm upgrade converts the Monkey Beacon into a Monkey Storm Beacon, allowing it to summon a squadron of Super Monkeys to instantly destroy every non-MOAB-Class Bloon on-screen. Summoning the Super Monkey Storm costs money and, once used, must undergo a cooldown of just under 60 seconds before it can be used again. Super Monkey Storm is activated by clicking on a button that triggers this ability.
It costs $2795 on Easy, $3500 on Medium, and $3780 on Hard. Using the Super Monkey Storm costs $850 on Easy, $1000 on Medium, and $1080 on Hard.
The player can only have one Monkey Storm Beacon on-screen at any given time; attempting to purchase the Monkey Storm upgrade on another Monkey Beacon while one currently exists simply has no effect.
It is a very strong upgrade because when the player uses it, a storm of Super Monkeys come and wipe everything except MOABs off the screen. When the player upgrades the Monkey Beacon to this upgrade the tower gets changed to Super Monkey Storm Icon. In BTD5, this is replaced by the Super Monkey Storm special agent.
Description[]

Super Monkey Storm in action
The Monkey Storm Beacon must be selected in order to access the option to summon the Super Monkey Storm. Once summoned, a squadron of Super Monkeys flies overhead and, after a short delay, instantly destroys every non-MOAB-Class Bloon on-screen, while dealing no damage to MOAB-Class Bloons whatsoever.
Bloons that were destroyed by the Super Monkey Storm do not give their expected amount of money; instead, each one grants a flat $2, regardless of how many layers it had. This amount does not scale with the cash per pop reductions in later rounds.
Once used, the Super Monkey Storm must undergo a cooldown of 57.2 seconds before it can be used again. This cooldown continues even if the Monkey Storm Beacon is sold and does not reset if it is re-bought. Bizarrely, in the Flash version, the cooldown does not speed up when Fast Forward is enabled.

Trivia[]
- The Super Monkey Storm can be seen as a precursor to the Activated Abilities mechanic introduced in Bloons TD 5. Both must be triggered manually by the player and, once used, must undergo a cooldown before they can be used again.
- The inability to have multiple Super Monkey Storms at a time is similar to the tier 5 upgrades mechanic introduced in Bloons TD 6.
- In BTD4, the Super Monkey Storm has to recharge, but in BTD3, it doesn't.
- The Monkey Storm Beacon returns as an easter egg in the map Supermonkey Villa in BATTD.
- This is the only upgrade in BTD that players have to pay every time you want to use it.
