Tired of picking up all those bananas yourself? So is this guy but at least he's paid to do it. Farmer will auto-gather all bananas in his radius so you don't have to.
~ Official description

The Banana Farmer (Monkey Farmer in Bloons TD 5 Deluxe) is a Special Agent in Bloons TD 5. It appears in all versions of BTD5 except the Flash version.

The Banana Farmer automatically collects certain collectables within its range. As it does not attack, its primary purpose is to automate the collection of cash from Banana Farms, though it can also collect from Supply Drop and Support Chinook.

The Banana Farmer can be purchased for Monkey Dollar40. Using 50 Banana Farmers (equivalent to Monkey Dollar2000) permanently unlocks the Banana Farmer Pro.

Summary[]

While the Banana Farmer offers no offensive presence, its ability to automate the collection of income allows the player to focus their micromanagement elsewhere, provided the relevant income-producing towers are within the Farmer's range. In particular, this allows for easier use of Dartling Guns in conjunction with farming.

If playing the mobile, PC, or console version, then Banana Farmers may be substituted with Bloonchippers when using Al's Custom Chippers, though the Banana Farmer has the advantage of not costing any in-game cash.

Trivia[]

  • The Banana Farmer is one of the only two Special Agents that are monkeys, the other being the Super Monkey Storm.
  • Oddly, the Monkey Farmer can be used in Deflation Mode in BTD5 Deluxe despite serving no legitimate purpose.
    • In the mobile, PC, and console versions, the Banana Farmer can still collect crates containing lives from the Support Chinook, which technically gives it a legitimate use case there.
  • The Banana Farmer used to be able to "steal" collectables from the other player in Co-op, though this has been patched.
