City eco changes on Round 31

Monkey City is the 4th upgrade on Path 3 of the Monkey Village in Bloons TD Battles 2. It is entirely different compared to its BTD6 counterpart. While retaining its bonus influence range, instead of a +15% extra income buff and free Dart Monkeys per round, it gives another +10% eco for bloon sends (total of +20% eco) and autocollects bananas like a Banana Farmer, at a higher upgrade cost. The total of +20% eco is reversed to a 20% reduced eco penalty for stronger blimp sends, lowering the punishment for sending blimps above MOABs.

It costs $7,000, and is unlocked with purchase of Village.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

An ultimate eco-based income-generating source for a rather reasonable cost while also adding Farm conveniences too. As with Monkey Town, Pinks generally are the most efficient at maximum extrapolation of income, followed by Purples which consume income much faster but speed up eco rates faster too.

Tips[]

  • Treat this as a stronger Monkey Town. For veterans of the BTDB Mobile games, treat this as the old BTDB Mobile Monkey Town.
  • There is no point buying a second Monkey City unless opting for the autocollection of bananas, because the eco bonus (or eco penalty reduction) does not stack and is considered global.
  • Like Monkey Town, Monkey City can be placed far from the main action to add room for more important towers. This is because the City's bonus eco effects are global and therefore not placement-dependent.

Version History[]

Initial release (compared to BTD6 during Version 28.0)
  • Change Monkey City now gives a total of +20% eco and autocollection of bananas, instead of +15% income generation buff and free Dart Monkeys
  • NERF Monkey City costs more ($3,000 --> $7,000)
    • BUFF Total bonus is now a decrease from Commerce, for only just a $1000 saving compared to in BTD6.
1.5.0
  • BUFF No longer requires 15,500 XP to unlock. Players who have unlocked this upgrade before the update will not receive a full refund.

Trivia[]

  • The upgrade icon for Monkey City still features a Dart Monkey despite having no relevance with Dart Monkey in this game.
