Monkey Boost, also known as Tower Boost, is a boost in Bloons TD Battles 2. It adds an Overclock-like effect to all towers on screen, boosting their attack speed by +66% (or more specifically 0.60x attack cooldown). Duration lasts for 12 seconds and the reset delay is 40 seconds. Initial cooldown is 20 seconds. Every game, the player starts with 3 Monkey Boosts. Monkey Boost is separate to ordinary external speed buffs, allowing attacks normally incapable of accepting speed buffs (e.g. Bloon Trap's trap) to accept Monkey Boost.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Use them wisely. Use it if anticipating a defeat or any other heavy disadvantage such as losing First Blood bonus. Be aware someone could send a smaller rush to bait you into using your tower boost preemptively, and then send a more powerful rush at you when your tower boost is on cooldown.

Tips[]

  • You can switch between hero abilities and boost for different occasions.
  • Boost will not be applied to towers placed after it was activated.

Version History[]

1.10.3
With such a short cooldown, there was not much potential for secondary rushes in-between boosts, especially considering that most heroes have powerful abilities that can be used as alternatives to boosts. This change aims to promote more frequent rushes, leading to more exciting and competitive games.

2.2.0
  • BUFF Monkey Boost initial cooldown decreased (30s → 20s)
We have reduced tower boost’s initial cooldown so that it is more accessible in the tricky early rounds of Speed Battles, as a lot of towers struggle here.
