- Not to be confused with End of the Road, another map with a similar name.
Middle of the Road is a Beginner Map in Bloons TD 6, released in the Version 35.0 update on 16th February 2023, along with Dark Dungeons.
In an unknown update, possibly Version 48.0, Middle Road has become one of the pinned Beginner Maps in the following order, from left to right, descending order to the bottom: Monkey Meadow, In the Loop, Middle of the Road, new map, with the rest being maps produced in order of latestness.
Overview[]
It takes place in a Wild West setting desert road map, set in a small town, with an irregular road layout. The road splits into two different lanes around multiple buildings. However, instead of being a two-laned map, it is a one-laned map where bloons enter from the top-left side of the road, loop around the buildings, curve around a black tire skid mark, and loop around the buildings again while following the rest of the road.
All 6 buildings, the parked truck, the water tower, and the windmill block Line of Sight. The top of water tower is highground only can fit up to one large footprint tower (e.g. Super Monkey or Monkey Village, but not Banana Farm), allowing towers to see over those obstructions.
There is a pool of water that fits several water-based towers such as Monkey Buccaneer, Monkey Sub, and Admiral Brickell.

Summary[]
Middle of the Road contains a few awkward loops that aren't so optimal for Tack Shooters, yet decent for other short-ranged attackers like Sauda. However, it has poor map coverage for placing towers within Favored Trades while also antistalling rounds to prevent timer penalties in Boss Bloon Events. The map is okay for straight-line long-ranged attackers such as Crossbow. It has a decent amount of land, but only enough to place two Farms within the middle section and isn't an optimal map for optimizing Monkeyopolis spots. Open land is somewhat open for Mortars but not so much for Dartlings.
Tips[]
- Make use of the barrel well for long-ranged towers such as Snipers.
- At the end of the track, a MOAB SHREDR can be used to pick off MOAB-class bloons from the beginning without wasting so many spikes from ordinary bloons.

Trivia[]
- Middle of the Road is likely a reference to End of the Road, being a likely connection both literally and figuratively.
- The map Middle of the Road isn't the first occasion where a map references another map. The first occasion was the BTD5 map Rink Revenge (which plays on The Rink), the second is the BTD6 map Bloody Puddles (which plays on Muddy Puddles). However, this is the second time a map reference to another map is in the same map difficulty.
- The signposts near the start of the map read “<- start” and “end ->”, hinting at both a strong connection between the maps, and a possible future Start of the Road map.
