Mesa is an Advanced Map that simultaneous-lane map with 2 lanes, both of which don't meet closely to each other, the bottom lane being much shorter than the first. These lanes are separated by cliffs that block Line of Sight. Some of these cliffs have the High Ground. Mesa contains no water. Some rocky obstacles can be removed to place towers on top of some badland cliffs.

Map Configuration[]

  • Entrances: 2
  • Exits: 2
  • Lane Configuration(s): Simultaneous-lane map
  • Length: 16.41 RBS (top), 12.49 RBS (bottom)
  • Water:No
  • Line of Sight: Yes, intrusive
  • High Ground: Yes, on the highest cliffs
  • Removable Obstacles:
    • Rocky cliffs (3): $500
  • Special: None

General Strategy[]

The general strategy for beating this map is to opt for long-ranged towers that ignore Line of Sight or fly. In particular, Sniper Monkeys excel on this map, given the generous high ground and the Sniper's infinite range. There is use for Ultra-Juggernaut to make use of Obstacles for greater destruction of bloons, although not very ideal and otherwise the Line of Sight is more of a nuisance. The lack of water on this map prevents water-based towers from being placed, though space for Portable Lakes is plentiful. [insert more general strategy that sums up subsequent paragraphs]

During the early-game, the general strategy is to start with 0-0-0 Sniper and 0-0-0 Dart, with Sniper on Strong to handle stronger bloons (especially Round 6's Green Bloons). [add more information about early-game stuff].

During the mid-game, [add more information].

During the late-game, [add more information].

Towers[]

In general, towers that contain long range excel on this map. [further describe towers and stuff and how they play a role on this map]

Dart Monkey
  • This is an effective map for Ultra-Juggernaut, as it has a lot of obstacles that the balls can bounce.
  • PMFC( Plasma Monkey Fan Club) is Ok, although they must be placed carefully to avoid having their pierce wasted by obstacles.
000-BoomerangMonkey
Boomerang Monkey
  • Turbo Charge and Perma Charge can do well on this map, although it is recommended to place them on high ground or have good placement, to avoid having pierce wasted on obstacles.
  • MOAB Press is a useful support tower to push back blimps, as per usual.
000-BombShooter
Bomb Shooter
000-TackShooter
Tack Shooter
  • The Tack Zone can be good, although it is recommended to place it on High Ground, where the tacks do not collide with obstacles..
000-IceMonkey
Ice Monkey
  • Snowstorm serves a dual purpose role of having a powerful active ability to slow down blimps and bloons, and a passive slow for swarms of incoming ceramics. It is recommended to crosspath as 2-4-0 to affect DDTs.

Heroes[]

Heroes provide important benefits that help you to excel in any game. It is advised to choose a hero that works best for the map conditions and based on the type of game mode played. Be sure to place the hero as soon as possible, allowing the selected hero to gain a greater headstart in leveling up to higher levels. As an Advanced Map, Mesa gives +10% more Hero XP than normal.

In general, a hero that is least affected by the glass frames tends to excel on this map. Long-ranged options such as Etienne or Psi tends to be less affected by the glass frames than other heroes that rely a lot on special targeting and possess low range. Alternatively, a hero whose primary functionalities do not rely much on micromanagement, such as Benjamin may work for this map.

  • If not playing on Chimps, his money generation is perfect for this map, due to him not being reliant on micromangement to maximize his power.

EtiennePortrait
Etienne
  • There are a few spots on the map where Etienne can easily hit bloons on both lanes due to his large radius and the fact that his drones ignore line-of-sight. It is recommended to use the Divide and Conquer targeting option to have the drones to shoot bloons on whichever track is most needed.
SaudaPortrait
Sauda
  • Sauda isn't capable of soloing Round 6 on her own due to the two simultaneous lanes that don't meet very closely. However, there is one spot that allows her to hit both lanes, albeit poorly.
PsiPortrait
Psi
  • Psi is not dependent on micro-mangment due their line-of-sight ignoring, infinite range attack.

General Advice[]

Summary[]

[insert a one-to-two paragraph mini-essay on this]

Tips[]

  • Sniper Monkeys are useful on this map. In fact, one 0-0-0 Dart Monkey and 0-0-0 Sniper Monkey can solo the first few rounds on CHIMPS.
  • Because this map was released along with Etienne, he serves as a good hero on this map for both universal camo detection and ignoring Line of Sight.
  • Ultra-Juggernaut is very good on this map, provided it is placed correctly. The Ultra Juggernaut should have it's targeting on Close and for the game to be slowed down for best results.
