Medallions (
) are used in Bloons TD Battles for buying towers and upgrades, similar to Monkey Money in Bloons TD 5. In Assault and Defend Modes, the player earns 5 if they win, but only 2 if they lose, and 0 if they surrender within the first 7 rounds. Medallions can be spent on towers and their final upgrades, Bloon Decals or the Zesty Max Energy Boost premium upgrade. On Bloons TD Battles Flash, Medallions can be bought with NK Coins; in Bloons TD Battles Mobile, they can be bought for real-world money.
The total amount of Medallions needed to unlock everything (including COBRA) is 7290.

BTD Battles Mobile[]
In BTD Battles Mobile, however, purchasing towers, their tier-3 upgrades, and their tier-4 upgrades are required to get the most of the use of towers. In this game, every tower, their tier-3 upgrades, and their tier-4 upgrades have different costs and Battle Score requirements.

Leaderboards[]
Exclusive to the Mobile versions, players who earn a certain number of medallions are able to reach the leaderboards to earn extra medallions as reward. Earning at least 100 is required to earn rewards from being in the leaderboards.
Rewards for reaching a certain placing in the worldwide leaderboards are as follows:

Since Bloons TD Battles Mobile requires internet, it also knows which country a player is from, automatically choosing which country's leaderboards a player is to be in. Some countries may have an advantage for having a smaller number of players, since adjustment for regional leaderboard rewards never change from country from country. Thus, someone from a smaller country such as New Zealand may get Top 1000 when in other more populous countries such as USA may only get Top 10,000 for the same amount of medallion gain, for instance.
