Master Bomber

Master Bomber is the 5th upgrade of Path 3 for the Ninja Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. The upgrade enhances all of its bombs to become much stronger, especially versus MOAB-class bloons. New special sticky bombs are thrown from anywhere on screen, barring Line of Sight blockers, dealing 850 damage instead of 450 damage, are thrown every 1.8s instead of 4.5s (1.26s with 1-0-5 instead of 3.15s), and secondary sticky bomb explosions deal 200 damage instead of 100. Not only do its sticky bombs deal extra damage, sticky bombs stun affected MOAB-class bloons for up to 1.0s, while its flash bombs deal 10 damage and stun MOAB-class for up to 0.25s or standard bloons for 1.0s. It does not improve its caltrops, unlike its BTD6 counterpart; the Master Bomber acts more like a nerfed variant of its BTD6 pre-36.0 counterpart.

It costs $40,000, and is unlocked with the other Ninja Monkey tier 5 upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Master Bomber does a lot of grouped and single-target damage and can dispatch the threat of DDTs, especially when massively boosted by Shinobis, while also chipping great damage off BADs. The Master Bomber does struggle against clumped Ceramics and regular bloons, having limited potential against those types. Try to have a Grandmaster Ninja or a Shinobi-buffed Bloonjitsu to act as cleanup.

Tips[]

  • Try to buff the Master Bomber with Shinobis as it will reduce the cooldown for each sticky bomb to be sent out.
  • Master Bomber can stun anything that isn't a BAD, attempt to micro its targeting to bomb the furthest MOAB class bloon to stun it.
  • Master Bomber stickies do not stack, but can stack with regular sticky bombs. Try to have 1 sticky and 1 Master on the map to maximize damage, particularly against BADs.
  • 1-0-5 is generally the best crosspath for Master Bomber, as this maximizes attack speed of all its attacks. 2-0-5 isn't necessary as it only affects shuriken pierce, while 0-2-5 is outclassed by Shinobi armies.
  • Set Master Bomber on First so it can stun the weakest bloons and blimps quickly with the flash bombs and stickies. The stun effect on weaker blimps is handy for limiting Bloon progression. Not much damage is missed out by setting on Strong, though Strong works better if specifically destroying ZOMGs and DDTs.

We have increased Ninja’s early-game potential since it stood out as a tower with relatively low DPS in the early game, always depending on another tower to deal the damage or to buff it. [...]

4.0.2
  • BUFF Affected by base Ninja attack speed buff
  • BUFF Affected by Caltrops buff
  • BUFF 0-x-5: Sticky bomb attack rate 2s → 0.18s
    • Note: This is not a typo; Master Bomber's attack speed was significantly increased.
These changes buff 0xx Ninja upgrades while leaving 1xx Ninja upgrades unchanged. One major reason for this is so that 023 Ninja can be slightly more dependable.
