Magic is a damage type introduced in Bloons Super Monkey 2 and are one of the seven weapon types in Bloons Super Monkey 2 Mobile. With the BSM2 games being the only source of Magic damage, their defining weakness is the inability to damage Ceramic Bloons. Magic weapons are typically characterized by their low group-popping capabilities but high single target damage, making them great for tacking bosses and MOABs, but poor for hordes of bloons. In addition, all Magic attacks are generally more short ranged, as they either deal damage in a zone or in a short range spray. There are some exceptions though, as their epic powers Lightning Trail and Phoenix provide good amounts of grouped damage.
Magic is represented on Bloons Wiki as , the upgrade artwork for the first arm magic upgrade, Intense Magic, in Bloons Supermonkey 2 Mobile, which appears to be a ball of purple magic.
In addition, all magic weapons use the Energy (not to be confused with Energy weapons) mechanic in some form instead of pierce, although Phoenix also has close-range projectiles utilizing pierce instead of energy. Thus, they are prone to getting overwhelmed by swarms of bloons.
While technically in the Magic category, Lightning Trail deals Normal damage in the mobile version, although in the flash version it still deals Magic damage. Despite the Wizard ally using magic attacks thematically, their attacks also deal Normal damage, although they only benefit from Magic research in the Mobile version. Sun God (BSM2) also benefits from Magic research in the mobile version despite their attacks dealing Normal damage.

The Magic weapon type was added to represent the Monkey Apprentice's attacks, but unlike the Apprentice's attacks in the tower defense games they appear in, the Magic class in BSM2 Flash and Mobile cannot damage ceramic bloons, likely because all other weapon classes have a bloon they cannot pop. This makes it one of the only categories that are resisted by a bloon with more than one health per layer, the other being Energy.
