BTDB2

Can collide with and shove MOAB-Class Bloons, reversing or slowing their movement. Shove is amplified by Bigger Jets and IFR upgrades.
~ BTDB2 description

MOAB Shove is the third upgrade of Path 3 for the Heli Pilot in Bloons TD Battles 2. It allows the Heli Pilot to push back MOAB-class bloons (except BADs). When the MOAB Shove touches the hitbox of any MOAB-class bloon, it pushes the first collided blimp backwards. The MOAB Shove effect is more effective against weaker blimps but weaker against stronger blimps.

When shoved, MOABs move 33% backwards, BFBs completely stop, ZOMGs move 50% slower, and DDTs move 66% slower. With Bigger Jets, the shove effect becomes stronger; MOABs move 44% backwards, BFBs move 11% backwards, ZOMGs move 66% slower, and DDTs move 77% slower.

MOAB Shove costs $3,700 in-game and is unlocked with 500 Monkey Money for the Heli.

Appearance[]

This upgrade adds a grill to the front of the helicopter, and adds an extra chevron to each side.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

MOAB Shove is a cheap alternative to Maim MOAB and other MOAB-slowing towers, and has the benefit of always being active (unlike Bloon Sabotage) and re-positionable (unlike MOAB Glue). It is weak to rushes of MOAB-class boons, rather its strength is being a very cost-efficient singular blimp staller.

While a 203 MOAB Shove can pursue bloons, a 023 may actual work better on many maps, as its increased shove and camo detection allows it to stall Fortified DDTs significantly, especially when placed in a central location in a map. This allows anti-DDT towers such as Sticky Bomb more time to destroy the DDTs.

Tips[]

  • MOAB Shove crosspathing should mostly be based on stalling potential; 0-1-3 helps partially at increasing effectiveness of that shove effect.

Version History[]

Initial release (compared to BTD6 Version 28.0)
  • NERF No longer has missiles
    • This is a nerf in this game since stalling strategies are diminished in value
2.0.4
  • NERF MOAB Shove cost increased ($3500 -> $3700)
    • Overall cost increase is $0 due to Faster Darts costing $100 less and Faster Firing costing $100 less.
We are lowering a few of the early game upgrades that don’t provide much utility while increasing the tier 3 prices so that they remain unaffected. [...]

3.2.4
  • NERF xx3 MOAB Shove: slows ZOMGs by 66% -> 50% (78% -> 66% with x1x)
4.2
  • BUFF Affected by base Heli pad footprint reduction
Heli Pilot’s large footprint has been a major limitation on the tower’s viability on a lot of maps, so we hope to open up its viability by reducing its size. [...]
