BTDB2

Special knockback kylies trigger more often and do lots of extra damage.
~ BTDB2 description

MOAB Domination is the 5th upgrade on Path 3 of the Boomerang Monkey in Bloons TD Battles 2. It works like its BTD6 counterpart, except its price is comparable to before BTD6 Version 30.0 and does slightly more damage overall, and the basic kylies don't get a gigantic pierce bonus.

This upgrade greatly improves the special kylie boomerangs, doubling its range, pierce increased by +100 on all crosspaths, briefly stuns the affected blimp(s) for 0.25s before knocking them back, and increases MOAB damage to 50 per 0.1 second contact, in practice hitting the same blimp up to about 12 times, as well as dealing a powerful burning explosion upon projectile expiry. The explosion deals 100 damage and deals a 50 damage per 1s burn for 4 seconds to up to 40 bloons (50 with Glaives), with an explosion radius of 50 (75 with Glaives). To maximize its popping power against BADs, its special kylies can now specifically target them.

The MOAB Domination upgrade also enhances the main boomerang to deal 12 damage and doubles the attack speed of both the normal attack and the special kylie attack, special kylie also deals much more knockback to MOAB-class bloons. Special Kylie attack also can detect blimps blocked by Line of Sight.

It costs $55,000, and is unlocked with the other tier 5 Boomerang Monkey upgrades for Monkey Money1500.

Strategy[]

Summary[]

Very expensive MOAB-class damage that appears to only do well against MOABs, BFBs, and ZOMGs. It is effective against Tight ZOMGs, as its high pierce and long-ranged knockback allows it to slowly destroy them while pushing back the progression of the ZOMGs. It is still rather ineffective against DDTs and BADs, which would need to be destroyed anyway by the time it could be afforded.

Tips[]

  • 0-2-5 offers undoubtably better results than 2-0-5. 2-0-5 offers almost zero benefit over the faster refreshment from 0-2-5.

Boomerang Monkey lacks late game potential, with its tier 5s generally being regarded as on the weaker side. We’ve buffed up the MOAB Domination so that it can better deal with the beefy MOAB class bloons in the later rounds.
